Is there a reason why every post I make in this thread is being rated down? I usually don't comment on Karma - but this is getting ridiculous.

I'd love if one of the trolls could enlighten me here.

The people who rated you down in this thread aren't the ones who rated you down in others. I'd take a guess that people just thought it was a dumb topic more suitable to the OoT than the Asylum. This crew is more into the politics/religion/insanity topics than general "Here's the first thing that came to my mind, let's share it!" posts.

Now, if we changed it to something like "I hate hipsters/conservatives, their music sucks, f*ck OWS/the Tea Party," you'd probably get a few rate-ups Smiley: nod

I did what I could to right the wrongs that have, perhaps, been done here. Smiley: grin

Personally, I think it's a personality thing. You pissed someone off, or made them feel little. Or maybe you inadvertently offended a sensitive soul or one of their friends or maybe their mom.

If it was the topic, then the rate-downs would prolly only go as far as the first couple posts. Also, if someone thought it was a dumb topic for the asylum, then they'd just ignore it. Most the old-timers around here don't bother with rates at all.

Anyways, I think Understanding Peer Ratings on Internet Forums would make for a cool psychology paper.

What exactly is the difference between a remix and a dubstep remix? More drum machine?

Did you forget where wiki was?

I think this post is a thinly veiled attempt to divert rate-down suspicions from yourself. Smiley: sly

Lol, gaxe.

I don't understand hipster music. I had a friend suggest Bon Iver today... and it puts me to sleep.

But then, I have an admittedly bad taste in music. I like stuff that gets my toes a-tappin', not necessarily from the depth of their lyrics. I'd rather have it sound good than have substance. Cue the analysis of what this says about how I perceive the world Smiley: grin

I listen to a lot of stuff and you can get it all here:

I change out the podcasts and radio shows on my phone weekly, so I always have something fresh and different.

Same with me. I even like a few Katy Perry songs. They're fun.

See.... I expect to be rated down for being a red commie ******* child of the great socialist north - but not for having bad taste in music.

Ah well.

It has nothing to do with your taste in music, and everything to do with the banality of "what are you listening to" style threads. You can thank Driftwood if you're really so upset over it.

I thought his version was on the Batman soundtrack. I distinctly remember loving that movie and loving that song.

It also won Song of the Year on Casey Kasum's top 100 countdown.

A music video I actually made

yes it looks like utter crap but I was using some pretty brutal tools - basically I used a free screen capture program to cap crap quality from youtube, then I used a different free program to splice clips together and then used the screen cap program to capture the resulting video (cause when I tried to add audio through the program I put things together with it cut out at every clip) AND THEN I put the resulting "photocopy of a photocopy" on the video editing program and added sound.

Then I uploaded this (not correct ratio) video to youtube.

Thus crap is born.

I almost could have done it better in MS paint.

Wow. You're like the Ed Wood of the internet. I'd stick to poetry.

I'm going to go ahead and rerail this *****. I found out that Distant Worlds is going to be in town in February, so now I'm listening to all of my Final Fantasy music. At this exact moment I'm listening to "Maria and Draco" from FFVI.

My inner nerd is appeased.

I've been listening to a lot of The Offspring, Rise Against and Nirvana lately.

One Ok Rock is pretty awesome, too (and something most of you haven't heard of).

Owen Pallet used to be called "Final Fantasy" but then SE sent him a cease and desist letter (well I am guessing that is why he stopped calling himself final fantasy. His first two albums are under that name, however)
