Not too much for me. I may grind some more rep for different factions in WoW.

I may get more done in real life than in any game. I should get more of my background material written for my book.

RL: Work only Saturday (thank God). Also, date-ish on Sunday night where, along with catching up, I plan to apologize to one of my exes from long ago for being a jerk. Wish me luck. X.x

FFXI: Skill Archery. Probably play SAM some more. (70 go!)

FFXI:All plans have been put on temporary hold for a while due to...

RL: Found out today that my brother had a very bad car wreck and has some swelling and a bloodclot on his brain. They did an operation to remove a flap of his skull (to allow some room for the brain to swell) and put it into his abdomen (to preserve it/keep it alive so it can be reattached to the skull if/when the swelling subsides). He is in a medically induced coma (although he was already in a comatose state when the helicopter dropped him off at the hospital) on a ventilator in the NSICU where he will stay until his condition improves.

Eeep. I hope all ends up well for you and your family, Beej! D:

RL: Work. Big surprise there. :P On the plus side of things, hubby has Monday off, so we get one day of quasi-weekend for once.

FFXI: Work on BST, and push for next medal in Campaign. Probably all I'll have time for. >_<

Oh, wow...

I think I speak for all of us here when I say that our thoughts and prayers are going out to you, your brother, and your family. I hope he recovers well, and soon.

I wish your brother the absolute best of luck.

As I posted on the EM forum, my prayers are with your brother, you, and your family Beej, please keep us informed and let me know if there is anything that I can do.

Wife went to visit her grandmother in FL, so I spend Friday night watching Kevin Smith movies before Salvage, and spent today cleaning the house (aren't I a nice house-husband? :P)

Guys, the support is greatly appreciated. It helps out a ton. This has been the worst weekend I have had since one of my other younger brothers was killed by a drunk driver in '89. The thought of "Oh no, please not this all over again" continues to go through my head. The support we have gotten has just been unbelivabe. We both are volunteer firefighters and we have had essentially our entire department down to visit every day along with a few guys from 3 of our neighboring depts too. Goes to prove that we (firefighters) are a brotherhood (for lack of better words) and when something happens we all pull together as one. The guy that is running our EMT-B class said that he knows most of our department will be up at the hospital alot and has offered his department's services to cover our calls in the event that we dont have people to handle our calls. My brother's job is taking it very well too. They sent a few of the big wigs out there offering up their support and said no matter how long it takes to recover, once he is readyhis job will be there no questiones asked. I certainly have gained alot of respect for UPS after hearing their stance on this.

As for his condition goes, well he remains in very critical condition. His brain is still swollen but it hasnt gotten any worse, which has his doctor a little encouraged. Despite remaining in a coma he has been having major problems with siezures. They brought a neurologist to look at him, He took him off the neds (including the one that keeps him in a medically induced coma.) From what I understand the doc didnt like what he saw, but wants to wait till the swelling goes down to be able to make a better assessment.

It has been very rough on us, esp when I get in to visit him, It takes almost everythin I have to keep from getting emotional. Its a very long road ahead and is going to be a roller coaster ride

Well, Monday was a very bad day for my brother. He developed an infection or pneumonia I think. He had a 103 fever all day and his vital signs were way out of whack. The first 2 days after the wreck they were: Pulse was around 90-120, Oxygen Saturation between 95-100, BP was a little high but not that much and respirations were 10-15. When I went to visit him Monday after work they were much different. Pulse was up around 150-155, O2 sat was down in the 80s BP was down alot, and respirations were up in the mid 30s.. So I started asking questions b/c I know what normal vitals are and I knew that was FAR from normal and not good. The nurse gave me some pathetic answers that I knew was ******** and suprise suprise, when the next visiting period came up the monitor showing his vitals was shut off, like they were hiding something. (I.E. They knew I knew what I was looking at and didnt want to answer any more questions..)

Well, around 11:30 or so they came out and told us his blood pressure was taking a nose dive and they are having trouble getting it back up. So they worked on him some and came back out to give us an update and let us go see him for a bit. Well, we went back there and I held his hand while I was watching the monitor and talking to him the best I could. I watched the vital signs plummet down into the single digits before I got out of there. Basically, I watched him die...

After that I ran back out into the waiting area and broke down, as I knew it was all but over. A few minutes later they called a code blue and 30 or so min later they came out and told us he was dead. They cleaned the body and let us come see him one last time. I went back there and held his hand. It was so cold I immediately broke down in front of him for the first time. I couldnt handle it, had to say goodbye and get out of there.

I still can not believe he is gone. It is starting to sink in some but I'm having a hard time believe it was truely his time to go. I'd be lieing if I said I wasnt questioning my faith right now. He had so much going for him, he finally had a girlfriend that treated him right, he was getting along with people alot better, helping out with things, taking medic school with me. Why did he have to be taken away from us? Life really sucks...

But the support I have gotten from all kinds of sources, you guys included had been awesome and has helped tremondously. It is greatly appreciated

As a matter of fact I don't. I'm now 0/5 and slightly annoyed. Stupid Goblin!

I'm very sorry about your loss Beej. I also have a brother and we are very close and the thought of what you are going through made me speechless/numb. With deepest sympathy I pray for you and your family.
