The drop rates are actually better than Dynamis it's just that each zone has different drops for the level 15 armors. Most people assume that every zone's 15 armor is the same as Bhauflau Remnants. Bhauflau is by and far the easiest to get level 15 armor on simply because it drops off normal mobs. Silver Seas is a little more difficult because the 15 armor shares drops with the 35 on NMs (although the 15 is 100%). I think Arropogo and Zhayolm both have drops off gears on the 4th floors. I could be wrong about that one. All known boss kills have dropped 2 and exactly 2 level 25 armors which is terrific when you consider the drop rates off other bosses and NMs in the game. The 35 armor is the only real problem. Not all of the NMs are known at this time and so it is hard to guage thier drop rates. So far as I see it the only difficult part about getting Salvage gear is the time it takes to aquire all three parts and the extra material costs to upgrade to the finished item.

Since the patch I've pretty much given up on putting salvage together. It's hard enough depending on getting those few rare monks that want to join, getting people to sacrafice AP, and then making everyone understand the importance of Reraise items and Hi-pots and such for the first few floors. Then Square went and added no AP assaults with the chance of fighting just about every NM in the game. If they want people to actually become interested in Salvage they sure aren't showing it. I'll wait they actually adress a few of the issues surrounding Salvage before I try again. That or someone else can try to get the manpower ;) I wrote my issues up in a big long post on the suggestion forum. Maybe I'll get lucky and someone will pay attention.

I think most people want instant fast success in Assault. I am personally highest Assault rank in the game, and I will have to say, some Assault is so darn easy and only take 40 min to complete 2 of them to fulfill 2000 AP for Salvage.

Even @ the lowest 2 rank, Excavation Duty, Golden Savage, and Lamia 13 are very easy, but it does take full 30 min to complete (Lamia 13 and Golden Savage can be a lot shorter depends on how you do it).

About Reraise item and potions, Hi-Pots tanks are so cheap now... because of Assault. Reraise item is nearly a necessity. With reduced R1 exp lost, using a RR1 earring isn't as bad as it feels like. May be I am used to dying and don't mind :P (Remember I did once went from 43999/44000 as BLM down to less than 5000/44000 for that :P)

I myself really wish to go to Salvage. It is something new and different with Dynamis (which I probably done like 70+ of them). My AF2 luck is so abyssal that I do not wish to talk about.

For Reraise I was actually reffering to Scrolls of Instant Reraise and Reraier Potions because equipment is locked at the start. Although reraise gorgets and earings are still equally important. I remeber picking up people for Silver Seas and I told everyone multiple times 'fill your inventory with hi-pots' the only people that did so were me, a rdm, and a monk all of whom had done Salvage before. We only had one magic unlocked + AoE Drown :p. It was pretty ugly for hp. The only way at this point to get enough people (NA at least) for Salvage is to do pickup and Salvage, really, really shouldn't be done pickup because no one pays attention to the person leading the group. Thus I think many people's first impression of Salvage is usually really bad.

So yeah, if you get the people I'll dig up one of the strategies I reasearched and wrote out on my LS's website and we can see how it goes, but until then I'll keep attempting to get my first AF2 drop from Dynamis (it's only been 9 months @ 2 Dynamis a week, I should get something soon right?) because as of this moment I think there's a better chance of that than of a non-LS Salvage run that sees any armor drops, even level 15 in Bhauflau. That's how much of a pain it's been for me to attempt organizing this.

Some people are very lucky, but some are not in that department ; ; Best I have done myself is actually got 2 AF2 back-to-back week. That is like the highest point I have ever seen. Before that it was spring or summer of 2006 I gotten anything from Dynamis.

About people not paying attention, I find that the a very difficult thing amount a lot of LS >< I remembered Zicrod had to type all caps and <Call1> in everything to get people to respond -.-

[quote]Reason Why NA's Dont do Salavage and Jps do cause the Drop

The majority of players (not trying to be specific from being a specific region, but a lot of Japanese does fall under that) especially older one have work in daytime, and do not have time to wake up in a weird hour in the middle of the week or to log in during middle of the day to camp HNM. Nor a lot of players have enough patience deal with stupid drama and botters.

Salvage drop rate is... pretty much comparable to Dynamis, no?

A lot of Assault only takes 15 min to do, far better than standing around deal with botters and GS.

I have seen people with utmost best gear and play like crap. Good players know what is good gear, but good gear does not make a good player.

I dont know if you have ever did Salvage or how many u have did. I have did a ton as sayed befor. You average 2 Drops per run. That is about 2 drops per 1hr and 10mins. Dynamias is way better drop then that on avrage its not even close. And if you lose lot that is 100 mins u could be doing something else. Like a HNM or what ever u find fun.

Oh and P.S I still Do salvage and hope to get gear as most of it is Awsome. I do this like almost the same way I go to DA every day and Hope for Ridell as well as hope my LS mates can get good items as well that they need. And yes to me this is fun.

It still suprises me how many people on my LS were willing to come. Usually when I suggest Salvage all I get is "..." Prehaps the tides are turning? :D

By the way, great job on COR. One of the nice things I realized about it is that you didn't need to get magic unlocked early on like... everyone else ;)

I'm Corporal and still find myself doing that Assault among the most often (along with all the rest of the PSCs). The group is restricted by the lowest ranked member, and we usually bring along at least one person that's still PSC.

Only a handful of my friends are at or around the same rank I am, and almost all of them have their own groups (usually of strictly 3 people, usually of a job that I'm incompatible for anyway, so I'm out) that they run with, so it leaves me out.

Quasit went again last night. We didn't do as well as the day before, but I am 100% sure we can beat the boss.

I also got a COR-THF-RNG 15 legs item. Now I got something to work on @_@

Next time you are online, please give me a tell. May I add you to my friend list :P?

That is indeed the case from my observation. I myself is the highest Assault rank; but I speak Japanese, and for quite a long time, I do Assault with Japanese pickup groups.

Now of course I am helping one of my BLM buddies get some nice BLM boots, so I team up with NAs.

Assault is a major core of ToAU content. And it is one of the best addition to the game ever. I really do not understand why people are NOT doing them. I personally only know about 6-7 NAs who are Lance Corporal or higher.

4 LC+ in ClanD...

Myself - CS
Jamann - LC (was offered Corporal promotion yesterday)
Paragon - LC (needs one repeat to be offered Corporal promotion)
Chistoso - LC

I agree though, it's one of the best additions to the game. Even if you just ***** out a certain Assault for AP, you get a promotion once every 25 days. if you go strictly for wins, you can rank up once a week minimum. ^^

I wish the 25 and 35 piece of the Skadi pants material are like pancakes that I can make in the kitchen :3

I blame Quasit for giving me something to work on now :P
