Our prob is that we're so mage heavy and he is resistant to magic. :-/. We need a few more melee (It's must me (DRK) and a NIN atm).
Mages are not too bad against the Professor. The enemy is ghost, and ghost are actually weaker against magic than direct attacks. Of course, ghosts are generally annoying to kill.
Casting Banish, Dia, and Choke will help to bring down its defenses. One full well-balanced PT should do fine (may take a little while). The pops are sleepable with a Bard, or you can just kill them (just kite the boss around).
The key is to go in pop Professor with zero Fomor hate. When I did it, we had a 2-party alliance (a JP group). I myself need to get 8-3/4 finish... I want that darn ring lol.

Friday - Didn't get **** done cause of server issues, logged on and watched my LS kill FF. 3.5hrs later, logged on and helped LS kill FF and got Hrotti.
Saturday - Exp'd PLD for the first time in ages. PLD/nin DD is very impressive IMO 500+ Vorpal Blades O.o! Got 15k exp then went to Turtle. Aspid popped, and it turned into an interesting evening there. Got to watch something go SSJ. Killed NH as well this evening, 2x E.body drop, he was ****** this weekend though.
Ended up killing Aspid and have a shiney new set of Koenig Feet for it. Went to FF and killed.
Sunday - Got Samurai to 49. Leveled PLD again got a total of 28k exp in 2 days. Woulda been capped exp but PT disband ; ;. Went to FF and killed again. Tiamat was popped (at this point it was 2am PST and I work at 830am PST >.>). Killed Tiamat at 430am (very long fight last night ><;).
Monday - I dunno if I'm gonna log on tonight lol. I'm so tired at work right now cause of Tiamat.

Not sure when you killed that, but if it is overnight or today morning... Let me tell you my personal experience -- playing FFXI in the morning (except muling items or setting up in bazaar) before work is bad. It makes you so god darn tired -.- Now I usually logout before midnight, and if I have to login in the morning, it is only simple tasks. The only exception for me is Wednesday when LS has ENM in the morning.

sat. i failed geting any gil. sunday i almost got 71 but pt disbanded with me with 2ktnl /cry idk if i can get on tonight
We started the Tiamat fight at roughly 2am >.> (I shoulda gone to be after FF). Fight took 2.5hrs (lack of SMN's) so I was in bed passed out at 430 am and work up at 730 for work >.>
Already almost 1/2 done w/ my workday though, my pillow is calling me, I can hear it!

Yeah, it wasn't the brightest thing I've ever done lol. I didn't plan on it taking 2.5hrs. I'm used to it dying in like half that time or less lol.
Either way, I won't be starting any HNM camping anymore on a sunday that starts at 1am+ >.>
