I've been wanting to do promy runs. I have read earlier post about farming the recollections to use in boss battles but, wandering how rare drop they are. I've farmed the three Crags for hours, and only managed to get one fear recollection. Well I am farming them solo, with my limited playing time its hard to get friends to join in. With 30-40 mobs dead and only one recollection..wondering if its worth trouble trying to get them, since I still need to farm to buy medicines to take also. And I am doing this with PLD/THF just to hope that TH kicks in.
Any hints, or just stick it out till my luck runs better?

Some Recs. are more rare on other crags. I think fear drops common in Holla, Guilt drops freely in Mea and Dem has the Pain. Haven't done them in awhile so I may have the types incorrect but they do do more frequently in certain crags.
As for meds and foods, take the best and take as much as you can, no harm in over spending if it gets you the win. You can always send it back. Over spending saved my butt against Maat and got me the win, same works in Promys, don't go all that way just to lose. Be Ready.

They might be a pain.
But they are sooooo worth it.

Thankyou for advise, looks like I'll need to dedicate some massive time farming then, maybe con a friend into helping me farm them (:

Yea I figure I will just end up in a pick up party for the runs so I dont want to waste their time or mine, so want to make sure I'm fully prepared.

You only need one of each and they are useless on their own. You have to convert them into Anima in Jeuno.
Yea I already have the fear changed over to hysteranima or however it is spelled. Course having to do this for each crag run isnt looking to be that much fun (: Thanks again for input..course if i get off of this pc while at work /:
this may be too forward and obvious.. but your saying your farming solo? well thats probably the problem right there.. everytime ive done a promy the mobs that dropped the good recollections were further in and more than likely required 2-4 people to kill rather just being able to solo it... remember.. everything in this game is based around the idea of working together.. thats why its impossible to do anything on your own.

Yea I know I know /: lol but again my playtime is limited and varies day to day..and everyone I know is either busy or offline, so have to go solo. Plus I've soloed a good bit in game do to my antisocial tendencies. And I know it doesn't help to be anitsocial in a social game but, then again, no one said I was smart. (:
BTW, are the anima's of any use when you done Chapter 2? I have two sitting in inventory and wondering if its a waste of space.
Well Jogiyat, you could them for 5-2. You're facing the same three bosses in the same BC in Promyvion-Vahzl.

I've farmed these things solo a number of times, they aren't hard to get if you clear the wanderers on the first floor; Then again I am sure it depends on the Job you go as.
I myself farmed my anima's solo as a WAR/NIN, but I know someone who tired to do this as a RNG/NIN and failed miserably.
It's been mentioned before but the best thing to do is farm one craig, get one drop, go to the next and so on.
Hope you get a party for it and win; A lot of people don't stress on the importance of anima's inside Promys because it can be done without them, I myself perfer to have them because they can make the battle so much easier to do, they were designed for these bosses, so, why not have them? I hate to do Promy's runs for people who haven't taken the time to farm their animas, if they want to win I figured they could spend the time farming. I myself felt that I didn't want to be the one in the PT without them because I hate to be the weakest link.

I constantly have anima's in my Inventory on the off chance that someone somewhere might not have the Promy's done. If you're in to helping, I suggest keeping them around for your friend/linkshell mate's run. If not, like mentioned above, I believe they are usable inside the Promy-Vahzl.
