Recently I got on hold of the item needed for Divine Might, and I know a few Black Mage friends who wants to do it. So I might as well organize a run.

Time:

09/30 21:30 EST (10/01 02:30 GMT, 10/01 10:30 Japan Time) (About 10 days from this post)

Entry Requirements:

1) Black Mage 73+ and has Thunderga III learnt by two days before the event. If you delevel below 73, you will not be allowed to come.
2) Any players from any social/chat, Sky/HNM, Dynamis LS are welcomed.
3) Must have access to Sky.

Party Formation:

1) Currently I intend to do 15 Black Mages + 3 White Mages (subject to change). White Mages are there in case things go sour, and people will not take Raise 1.

2) I will open 10 spots to "public" right now (subject to change) -- 8 slots will be reserved for my friends and LS members at this time, but this is also subject to change.

3) White Mages will be choosen "internally" first (mean I go find the White Mages). White Mages who apply will get to go if I cannot find 3 (2 to be exact because I will be one) White Mages.

Rules:

1) White Mage sub only please. If you only have Red Mage sub, get
your White Mage to 25 (an arbituary chosen number, but @25 you can cast Raise, yay to White Mages!), and I will allow an under-leveled sub.

2) If there are too many people apply and there are no shows/last minute-cannot-make-it, you can come "stand-by." Stand-by goes to people who first signed up here and decide to "stand-by", and then to last minute "show ups." You are considered late, if you do not login in the game by the time of event.

3) Put aside of personal difference during the run. If there is someone you do not like in the alliance, do not start drama during the run or I will kick you. Drama is 2-ways, if 2 people argues, I do not care who is "right/wrong", I will kick. Play nice, folks.

4) First come first serve. People who apply must respond to this Alla thread, who posts firsts is considered in the line first. I will post a thread in Killvoid, but if you respond there, it will NOT count.

5) I will call when to cast Thunderga III. During event, if someone has to AFK last minute before time, I will give your slot to a Stand-by person.

6) If there are NOT enough people, I will spare late-comers and drama starters.

7) If things do go wrong, do not argue and angry. Take the anger somewhere. We can try it another time. I may try to get another pop item, so we can try twice in case things do go wrong.

8) Have fun^^ Ama-cat wants fun, but has to be business-like. Rules are absoulte, at the same time it is meant to keep things in order and people can have fun.

9) If something goes wrong for me unable to login, I will try to inform ahead, and reschedule/cancel etc.

Addition:

10) White Mage backupers must be at least 70 with Raise III.

11) If not enough applicants I will plug in other misc jobs in, but minimum 14 Black Mages. If I do not get that by end of Wednesday next week (EST), event will be cancelled.

12) Since it seems possible that more than 1-run is possible. I will juggle the rotation if there are enough Black Mages. Do tell me if you can stay longer than 1-run (if we win on 1st try). If 1st try is a loss, same rotation will go in. At the same time, people who HAVE NOT completed Divine Might and have pop item will have piority over who do not.

Updates:

1) Applicants that have the pop item make sure you say that. If you can get your own, I will really appreciate that.

2) I think I have 3 confirmed "pop item", so this will allow more people to join in if enough people signs up.

The organizer (i.e. me) is not a Black Mage, but I know Black Mages who wants to do this. It takes time and initative to organize such events.

I do not intend to sound like a "dictator" or "self-centered", but the rules are setted in a way that I can go myself^^.

You can count me in. I’m currently 72 BLM/WHM, but I can easily be 73 with a buffer by next Friday. I will be getting my Ark Pentasphere this Friday, during the next Full Moon.

i would like to help out, but i already have an earring, so fit somebody else in unless i am needed. otherwise, /tell eldarion in the game and i will make it.

i've started one of these before and things went ok, here are a few tips for you:

..stress the casting time as much as possible, but not until all are in position and in casting range. create two different times, the first one for elemental seal.

..all blm make a thundaga macro in advance. you can't see your game clock while in the spell list!

..all blm cast on the elvaan aa.

..all blm should cast reraise or bring reraise items before entering. whm should only be in this fight if they need the earring, they will not have time to save anybody and are just wasting room! the aoe will kill all blm in casting range before a benediction/curaga could possibly go off.

..the more blm you get the easier the "battle". 15 should be your set minimum. i made two runs, one with 17 blm and one with 14 blm. the first run one person casted a few seconds early, but we still won without any wipe. the second run we all casted perfectly, but we wiped because of only 14 blm. 3 of the 5 aa died, but some got off an aoe before dying and killed us all instantly. this is why whm are useless here.

..on a wipe, make sure everybody knows to stay where they are and not run around, especially not into the circle. die in place so that you can reraise safely without re-aggroing the remaining aa. rest full, wait for ele seal and repeat. if elvaan is alive, cast on it. if galka is alive but elvaan isn't, cast on galka. if neither are alive, cast on anything. :P

i might have forgot something, but that seems like most of it. cevan made a video of our second run (including the wipe ; ;). http://www.wizengamot-ls.com/5ArkAngels.wmv

As a honest assessment, do you think as White Mage (like myself) try to even organize this...? Yes I want an earring, but I want White Mages (and my fellow my White Mage friends) not be left out. For that reason I stated I want White Mages in there.

Or may be I will just have better luck to organize a "general" non-Black Mage run?

organized ls have trouble beating this, so i don't think a thrown together alliance would have much of a chance to be honest. i think your original idea to start a blm alliance is a good idea.

i'm not really sure what you mean, but it's ok for you to let in whm friends. it's you starting this so you can do whatever you want. i let in 3 melees during my 2 runs and things went smoothly, well smooth enough for everybody to get their earrings^^. as long as you have atleast 15 blm in each run, it doesn't really matter who you have in as filler.

I know this will be flame bait and/or the rate down patrol will be after me but it needs to be said.

I wish anyone involved in these good luck but if and when they "nerf" blm, I want everyone to remember situations such as these. When you take what is supposed to be one of the most challenging fights in the game a reduce it to a 30 second spell tossing festival, you are pointing out to developers a loophole/exploit that they will fix. I am in no way saying blm deserve a "nerf" but if it does happen, they can not shed one look of surprise.

I think whether BLM is over-powered or not is a very interesting question. I would not call that a flame-bait, but it is not apporiate to discuss in this thread because of being off-topic. If you start a new thread about this, it would not have been an issue.

My take about BLM is that BLM cannot cross hate line as crazy as Rangers. The precieve over-powering of BLM mainly related to end-game situations. In Exp PTs, I will challenge claims BLM as broken DD (there are parsers that show Monks, Dark Knights, Warriors out hitting Black Mages all the time in exp pt). The reason why BLM may seem overpowered because mainly regular melee DD does not fair too well in certain end game activity in terms of damage output.

As a matter of fact, BLM PTs are something I generally dislike. It creates BLMs that do not how to MB nor Stun, with under-leveled enfeebling skills (yay to useless Sleepga IIs!)

Instead of calling nerf nerf! Changes to game mechanics should be considered balancing.

End of Off-Topic

Id really really reaaly like to get Suppanomimi from Divine Might. However, I am a RDM, not a BLM ; ;

Sooo ... please consider me if you have a shortage of BLMs, or have enough ppl for multiple runs. I can be a healer too!

Sounds like we have a troll that does not like this topic... Anyway... We are still looking for more people, I have about 6-7 people on my list -- but we still need a LOT more Black Mages to sign up^^

Celantz, I will include you in the "roster" for now... Right now, I simply do not have enough people. I got a few personal tells that they wish to go, and I will try to fit them into the roster.

About the wave of rate downs I get... May be someone really do not like me, or someone really do not like Black Mage -- heh I myself is not really one either. If you do not like someone organzing such things, you can try to organize it yourself instead of cry Nerf Nerf or rate down rate down. I prefer action instead of talking and ranting. I am trying to be more active in game world in getting events done, and you can do that also too.

OH MY GOD, ROLL. ON. THE. FLOOR. LAUGHING. TO THE RATE DOWN TROLL: What goblin crawled up your *** and casted red hot chill dogs III?

And for God sakes, Ama stop taking your avatar down. ;p

If I had sky(probably never gonna happen), and 73+ I would go, and perhaps do something silly to get my self killed. ;p

A lot of Rangers still cries that they got nerfed etc... I still think in a lot of situations Rangers are still the most powerful -- not all, now being more balanced.

I really think they should power up some melee jobs. A lot of people are obessed with Gods, CoP dragons or other end game activity -- thinking that is golden path of the game. It is more important to play game for fun instead of have others tell you that do BLM or RNG or you are gimp. That is the goal I organize the event -- just go out have fun. Why be so picky and grinning to others having fun when it really does not effect you. You can always organize and participate in your own fun events.

Add: I like my old White Mage screenshot......

More Add: I once talked a good tarutaru friend of mine (he is quite a well known level 75 player), he said something really good. Being overly obessed with "how the game should be play" is a sign of over-addiction. Just play the game and have fun as long as you are not doing stuff that is annoying to others, everything is all good! Wee~

By means how the "should" be played is quite a vague idea. My opinion is that as long as you are not letting others down, than you are playing it good enough not to be worried how others judge you "how to play." May be a player little slow in doing Paralyna -- this may considered ok, and no one should say "you are doing it wrong". But if you do actions that seriously affect others game play, like stealing items, excessively "gimped" -- like wearing armour 20 levels under your current level, no having spells that is considered that is needed to preform your job in reasonable manner like Dispel or Raise. Make the judgement call yourself, and think about what others may consider you in a reasonable manner, than I think you are on the right track.

I try not to call "gimped"! on people. I still use my Holy Phial with my WHM, because IMO, its the best peice of equipment for me to wear since lvl 26. Its 43 lvls lower than I, am I gimped? I don't really think so, because its a great piece of equipment. I also used my energy earrings until enhancing/death instead of buying aura or black--but this is a rant that doesn't belong to the forum.

I hope the thing goes well with you all, not too much of a fan of the manaburn kinda things, but I do agree you should be able to play how you see fit. I guess I think if there was a way for a group of WHMs to get something done without searching for a tank, other DDs, etc I would go for it, and probably would find it fun. Good luck!
