I just wrote SE an email concerning the (in)actions of the GMs concerning the recent rash of MPKing. While I know that one email won't change much... a lot of them will. I ask that you click on the link following this paragraph and respond in kind. Remember to keep it respectful and civil... this is not your best friend you're talking to here... you're speaking to people that are attempting to provide you with a "service." Be calm, yet firm. "OMFG u guy5 r t3h 5uX0r5!!!!!!1!!11!11one1!!" will get us NOWHERE. Beneath is an exact copy of the email sent to Square Enix by me.

The form used by myself was at https://secure.playonline.com/supportus/index.html.

Before I begin, I'd like to point out that I am simply a concerned customer stating my views.

That being said, I have something that I'd like to see addressed.

GM Effectiveness - On many an occasion, myself and many others have called a GM when something -outrageous- has happened, only to get no help whatsoever. I'm not sure about the other servers, but on Cerberus, there has been a -massive- rash of MPKing by the Huixiang linkshell. We know that the GMs know about it, as one GM sat there and watched an MPK occur by this LS.

Did anything happen to these people? Has anything happened as of yet, after Huixiang has now possibly MPKed hundreds of people? No.

While I understand that the GMs are simply doing their jobs like you and I do every day, the fact that we know they've watched this occur and have recieved countless complaints every time this happens without action is simply inexcusable. I understand the GMs are bound by certain rules and regulations, designed to protect the players from unfair actions. However, when the violations are this blatent, and when we -know- that the GMs have -watched- it occur, the fact that nothing has been done... well, it brings a sick feeling to my stomach.

I currently have four separate accounts with Square Enix. If something is not done soon to either fix or even acknowledge this problem, then I stand to remove all four accounts from your services, effectively losing $67.80 per month to Square Enix from my coffers. Sure, that's not much to SE... but I can guarantee that if this is allowed to continue, I won't be the only one leaving.

Thank you for your time. In the name of courtesy and respect, I ask that if a response is had, that it not be a form letter. I would rather get nothing in response than an impersonal stream of bits from a computer's storage.

Thank you.

You have four accounts?

Not quite the point of what I was trying to say... but, yes, I could instantly have four accounts removed. I pay for mine, my brother's, and I now control and pay for an account that used to belong to one of my friends, but quit the game, so I took it over as a mule. The fourth is an account of one of my friends that will follow suit if I take action as such. While I stretched the truth by referring to my friend's account as one of my own, the point still stands: his account will go too, and SE will be no longer recieving my (or his) money any longer.

I SAID, DON'T SEND ME A FORM LETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD! Do you see how much we mean to them??? Obviously SOMEONE read it, because they sent me the "correct" form letter! This is how much we mean to them! We are giant walking dollars with keyboards to them!

All of you. Take a look at this, and think about it. If SE won't even honor a request to send me nothing rather than a form letter, then what good does it even do to think that they will help us AT ALL?

Everyone: read all of the preceding good and hard. And think about whether you continue to want to pay this company your hard-earned money. I don't know about you, but I have a lot of thinking to do tonight... over whether I want to continue with this "service" called FFXI, or not.

Cmon speedly, cut them some slack.

I mean, you must have been one post, out of the 120 they recieved today! who can tolerate that much mail? i mean, if i had hundreds of people employed for me i'd be making sure they didnt get stressed out by reading one e-mail each. Who has that kind of time when theres more important things to think about.

@.@

ok, enough sarcasm now -.-;

SE is turning out to be an evil kitten-killing conglomerate -.-
They seem to never take responsibility for anything, and dont do anything about most things.

I remember the night of the HUGE upload for NPC's and such, they made the idiotic mistake of doing all servers at once, and had like half a million people all trying to sign on at the same time, so they got clustered and connections went down.

So, what should they do?

Of course! call it a horrible DDoS attack! its no responsibility of theirs, and doing half the servers at once is too much trouble for their overworked employees -.-

i cant remember once having a GM ever do something about a problem i've reported, i only know of one instance where they did, and thats because my friend got stuck in his MH (its like DCing, where nothing will work when you click on them, the doors, everything) and one got him out.

and btw, i doubt they read past

ffxi has thoroughly ruined se's reputation and i'm sure they'll realize how bad of a job they're doing when their sales start to die out over the next couple of years. between the horrible customer service/(server stability it's a surprise to me that they're even in business anymore. i will admit, ffxi is a genius game and is fun as heck, but sometimes i don't know if it's worth it to keep paying these ******* idiots anymore..

hi speedly :)

gl getting something done here. i would caution you on a little patience though. i agree this is a SERIOUS problem. i do think that SE is aware of it. as you stated GMs have seen it done. however they may not be impowered to just delete characters right then and thier. as deleting characters is a loss of revinue for SE they are sure to have strict guidelines and certain ppl who can delete them. this may take some time to gather enough information for SE to delete thier accounts. calling GMs and writing letters i would think would help.

as for the form letter i think it was probably an automatic response letter and not an intentional slap in your face. they likly haddent read you letter when you recieved that reponse. i do hope this problem is taken care of for the sake of ffxi.

there is going to be an in rush of newbies once xbox3 comes out so hopefully the world is safe again by then or SE will really hurt when all the newbs get mpkd. we shall see. as for me i have not witnessed any of this so i can only offer my suport and concern. i wouldnt feel rigth telling SE off with no personal encounter. again keep it up speedly and others.

edited in paragraphs for ease of reading :)

what you forget is that there is an ingame jail. i've been jailed for mpking gilsellers in kuftal, pretty quickly and without any warning. why are these gilsellers not being jailed and suspended? i know for a fact that gms have the power to suspend any account for repeated mpking.

maybe the higher ups from se have told gms not to do anything to known gilsellers and let them investigate it? maybe the gilsellers are paying off se? who knows, there's probably a reasonable explanation, but meanwhile it's ruining our playtime, and they don't seem to be doing **** about it anytime soon..

boycott se? ^^

well they have to realize whatever money the gilsellers bring into them, will soon be trumped by what they will be losing. It is still currently profitable with the GS'ers accounts being active and paid for. However people are quitting, and in droves lately it seems. It's also leaving a bad taste in peoples mouths. This effects future products too.

SE is a business and in the short term keeping the GS'ers is money for them however when people start quitting and their reputation gets shat on for future MMO's and offline games they'll see the money they're losing.

In fact I'd say no one is more angry at the MPK'ing and harrassing tactics of the GS'ers than SE. If they were all well behaved then we wouldn't have a leg to stand on and SE could sit back and say there's nothing they can do.

More than likely they're sitting back waiting for it to hit that line of profit/loss THEN they act. Making another self-fellatio post about banning griefers and how much better the game will be. Hoping that people will come back and their rep isn't forever tainted.

So long as they're making money off of us regular/die hards, the Gil Sellers & the Gil Buyers not too much will change. When the Die hards start to dwindle and the Gil Buyers leave because the good players are leaving then we force SE's hands.

*Sorry for the longish post*

Lol theres no chance in hell the gil sellers are paying off SE to have free run of the sever...

If they had a secret agreement with the sellers, SE could simply generate as much gil as they wanted without making the gil sellers farm it. It is a digital commodity that SE has complete control of. SE has been making changes to actively hinder gil farmers/sellers.

If you're looking for consiricy, the only remote possibility would be GMs on gilsellers payrole (GMs are low level employees, gil sellers are part of a $500 million dollar industry). But to pay off every GM to protect their operations on every server? >.>

If anything, I am hoping SE is just building a big hit list of another 800 accounts to wipe out abruptly. Let flying and other trouble makers run around for a month and build a very complete case before wiping the entire LS. If they act too early they may only wipe out 6-7 repeat troublemakers within the larger gil seller population and the rest would lay low for a month and regroup.

Keep an eye on zoome... he's there laughing when there an MPK, but its always a minion of his that does the dirty work. They wont risk scorp harnesses and multi-million gil gear equipped characters. They send the guy in the lizard armor to kill you in Kuftal. It only takes 3 weeks to get back an account like this so no loss to the gil sellers.
