Well... that's what a cry for attention is..
#128 Aug 09 2005 at 5:03 PM Rating: Decent
Well, I feel bad by posting this. Just feeding the child the attention she wants.

People should ignore her. Don't ignore the things she did. Keep those in memory. If she asks something from you, stop responding. If she starts talking to you, /blist her and forget it. DON'T SCRATCH THE ITCH. We all know a person like this IRL. The one who needs the attention. The one who makes the biggest scene. The one who doesn't care about people.

The only way to get rid of her is to stop talking to her. Completely. Remind people on her LS about it, and tell them that the past never dies. She has done bad things, but there is no salvation for her because there was no punishment. She is a thief who stole from a BCNM, lied about it, blamed her friend for it. Real life or not, her character is clear.

People think that by coming here and venting their anger, they will feel better about it, but she sits at home and gloats about it.

You know how I would feel good? If a thread was made by her, and there was not ONE POST on her it. Don't rate it down. Leave it so she can see that she isn't a chip on the shoulder anymore.

I realize that I shouldn't have posted this, and by doing so I am being very hypocritical. I don't care. Let her die a slow agonizing death. Watch her go down, but do nothing more. That is the only way to end her.

according to mythology(this behavior is untrue), when in danger, an ostrich hides his head in the sand. with that type of reasoning, i'd say the predators chances of having an easy lunch greatly increases

things dont go away from ignoring them.

LoL not to nitpick.. but that's not "mythology". The ostrich really does bury it's head. No offense but I think that point altogether was off target. I can see the point you were trying to make but I disagree.

The people like this indvidual thrive on chaos. Without the attention they will try harder to get it, than eventually move on if they don't receive it.

ROFLMAO. I almost responded with ostriches DO bury their heads. Too many damn cartoons as a kid. :-b

Anyways, if you read some child psychology you'll see that tantrums for attention can be resolved by not feeding to it. Granted ignoring a child is a bad thing, but if they are throwing a fit, ignoring them and not feeding to the issue will eventually cause them to give up.

One of my old roommates had a really bad habit of leaving his daughter in a playpen in his room while he was in the living room. She'd throw a fit for awhile and would continue if he came in to check on her, but if he left her alone, sure enough she'd find something else to occupy herself. Sad, but true.

an ostrich sticks its head in the sand to gather pebbles for breaking down their food... they have no teeth. it's not to "hide" from predators

from my experience, not tending to a child throwing a tantrum will only make the child throw an even larger fit. you cant just pretend the kid doesnt exists. i feel the best approach is to respond to the child but not give him what he wants.

but wtf do i know... i'm a high school drop out, much less a psychologist.

No I was agreeing with you on the Ostrich thing. I almost disagreed but felt I should look it up. I found you were right so I saved myself looking like a complete ***. LoL

Like I said, ignoring a child is a poor method, but they will "eventually" give up. The better way is to try to reason, but in some cases that's just not feasible. In those cases, it's the "turn the other cheek" that will generally put you ahead. More backlashing only fuels the fire.

how about punishment if the problem persists? surely there must be a consequence to inappropriate behavior

in this case, cetrane stole many millions from a lot of people... pretty much the entire server now knows about it because she was NOT ignored. imagine how many would have been screwed if nothing had been said.

i do agree the entire issue has been beated to death. however, i this thread wasnt a cry for attention. this thread, combined with another, now deleted thread, was a poor attempt to clear her name

Oh I agree completely that it was a poor attempt to clear her own name. I think we have a different concept of the ignoring though.

People that act in this manner should definitely be brought to the attention of the masses, however, the attention I'm saying she's thriving off of, is the flaming and berating. That we can ignore by not replying to her and, in turn, giving her nothing to enjoy.
