So far, I don't know that Brady Games is coming out with a new one, at ALL, much less when you'll see a UK release. I'm keeping my eye on things, because I want a new guide, too.

Though I'm pretty sure they didn't cover the Zilart missions on purpose. All the job information for the new jobs that came out in Zilart are there (at least, as of April 04). However, by the time you get to Zilart, you ought to be able to find out what you're doing on quests on your own, or have friends who can guide you.

The FFXI atlas doesn't have maps for certain areas, like the Temple of Uggapleaseshootme, or sky.

It's a strategy guide, not a complete exposition of every map, object, and task you could possibly encounter in the whole game. But, yes, I'd like it to have at least an update on the new gear, areas, and recipes.

They probly gave up seeing how their last guide was so wrong in alot of areas. Most people ended up using it as a recipe guide and a generalization of when you can get new armor and skills.

Oh the countless time I was lead on wild goose chases due to the wrongness of that guide. But still, for beginning, it wasn't that bad.

Also, can you imagine how thick that book would be now with all the new quest

FFXI only made money on name alone some people at EB said..and Brady Games was not releasing another guide. The Atlus is pretty much all we'll get now.

Honestly with sites like this one and ffxi.cannotlinkto (and others of course) there is not much need for the guide. Except, of course, to have as a quick reference while actually playing.

I agree the Brady guide had a LOT of inaccuracies, however, what's to say they weren't correct when it was created. SE has a tendency to change A LOT. LoL.

But it has served as a GREAT guide for starting out, and as a makeshift recipe guide. I also found it does really well as a coaster for whatever I'm drinking while playing FFXI. :-b

hey alll... What we need is a damn FF magazine... including updated questS... profiles on players... updated recipes and items etc. etc. think about it... it could be f'n cool... i would love to do some of my studying for the game not in front of a computer... the book was cool... the atlas.... basically a waste of 20 bucks.... but a magazine with updated info would be priceless.... hey, i already spend too much time in front of my f'n computer!!!!!!.... GIVE ME A BREAK and collect the info from this site and let's print it out and make a cool ZINE or something...... anyone with some ideas or a BG in magazine production send me an e-mail....
