My Garliage Citadel Adventure.Follow

The Quest

Kill stuff in Garliage Citadel to obtain a coffer chest key, and then get pass some dumb door doors that are called 'Banishing Gates' for some reason and trade the key to a Treasure Coffer Chest to obtain a Gallant Coronet.

The Adventurers

Danyu PLD56 (yea, thats me), Windycheeks WHM63 , Sorviena WHM51, Kingmichael BLM59, and Pagan THF65 - of course they're all SubligarKnights members.

The Short, but Lame Story of the Key

One day, after getting owned a bunch of times in ballista, some linkshell members decide its time to get my AF piece. We all choco to Garliage Citadel with style. I had no idea where the coffer mobs were so Pagan and Windycheeks pretty much led the way. We dropped down the first hole, and I was sorta being lazy so I auto-followed them to the camp >.> ... Anyways, if anyone was wondering I did actually bring a stack of Powders and Oils because I brought my War sub and I was planning on tanking. So we get to camp, and we find out that there is actually an exp party killing coffer mobs. Thankfully, I was the only who needed a coffer key. We were fighting bombs for the most part, because we saw more of them spawn. Bombs were the most fun because you never knew when they would throw a {Self-Destruct} on you. One almost one-shotted me, I was left with 26 HP. I felt so cool after that mob. Then Windycheeks had to go brag that I only survived because he had barfira up. He ruined my feeling of being cool. Anyways, something dropped the key though I don't remember what mob.

The Story of the Chest

So we escape out of Garliage Citadel, and Pagan had to leave because he had to save someone from a burning house. Take Note: I really can't remember why Pagan had to leave, so I just said that because it sounds better.

We go back in, all confident and full ourselves cause we owned those mobs getting that key. I asked if I should change my sub for this part, but was told I might as well keep the /war sub, so I did.

Problems with them doors

Yea, I didn't auto-follow Windycheeks this time, though I probably should've cause I lost them for a second, and they made it to the banishing gate way ahead of me. All of sudden I see Windy saying in party chat 'Go through the door! Hurry up!' Or maybe he said it on Teamspeak, I can't really remember. But anyways, I said, 'Ummm, I don't think I'm going to make it.' But it turns out that I actually do make it through the door! Though victory was only shortly celebrated because Windycheeks went back through the Banishing Gate to meet up with me, and he was locked out on the otherside. So Sorviena and Kingmichael immediately go back around through the hole to make it back to the other side of the gate to let Windycheeks back in. The only problem is me. I've never been on this side of the gate, and it took me freaking forever to find that damn hole. So I finally find them again, and we all get on our switches. The doors open, Windycheeks goes in, I go in and..... thats it. Kingmichael moved to slow, and Sorviena didn't realize the doors were even open -.- So guess what? I get to go all around again, and find the rabbit hole to get back. Its just this time, I actually have company :)
This time that we get back, we make all make it through the door. YAY.

Bones aggro to low HP like a mile away

Banishing Gate #2 I was told by one of our party members was being heavily camped, so we automatically decide to go to Banishing Gate #3. All four of us find our own room to hit a switch to get the door open, and then we start running towards the gate. As soon as I step off the switch, the WORST possible thing starts to happen! My sneak begins to wear off............
So I'm freaking out, and hoping that I can just make it through the door. I can see the rest of my party is right behind me, when I do finally make it through the gate, and I wanna give a /shout out about happy I am that I made it through. As soon as I do, the two jellies that hang out around the door come and start attacking me! Soon after, some more spawns, Fallen officers etc. begin attacking me. I'm seriously getting owned, and I tell them to just let me die so that everyone else doesn't die with me. So I die.

Windycheeks was nice enough to Raise II me, and I waited until the bone mobs were at decent distances and all facing the opposite directions and thats when I hit the 'accept' thingy. Right then, this HUGE train of mobs, bigger than the one I had before come up and kill me almost instantaneously. I hate to admit it, but dying, and then getting raised, and dying again...that just downright sucks. So Windy gets this idea to get everymob even remotely close to me to hate him, and then he runs off and casts {Escape} on himself, and in the meantime I would accept Raise. As Windycheeks goes out to look at the territory, Sorviena happens to peak right around the corner, and what do you know! The Treasure Coffer Chest is sitting right there! So the plan changes.

Sorviena tractors me all the way to right in front of the Treasure Coffer.

The Plan

Raise is already casted on me. Windycheeks buffs himself as much as possible and takes hate from all the mobs in the near area and runs away and then casts {Escape} on himself. I accept the {Raise} and then immediately trade my Coffer Key to the Treasure Coffer to obtain my Gallant Coronet, and then after I give the word Kingmichael casts {Escape} on me, Sorviena, and himself.

Why the Plan doesn't quite work

Windycheeks does a great job of taking every mob away, and I accept the Raise. I click trade with the chest, and then I get this really horrible message that says something like:

You cannot trade with the Treasure Coffer Chest in a weakened state.

Im like 'OMG I can't trade it!'

Windycheeks then dies from trying to remain to long, and Kingmichael casts Sneak on me. So we're sorta stuck in the same position again. All the mobs that Windycheeks took away are now coming back, and as soon as my weakened state is over with, I will take aggro from every creature in the zone...again. And it was at that moment, I had a plan.

Gone in 30 Seconds

So I'm weakened, and no matter what I do I'm going to take aggro in a few minutes, so I do what I do in any situation I feel that I don't have things under control. I told them I would {Invincible} while Sorviena and Kingmichael made sure my HP went up to normal as soon as possible, and then I trade the key to the chest, and then we {Escape} out of there.

It worked perfectly, I felt like everything was going in slow motion with only moment away from another spectacular death coming. I hit Invincible, traded my key to the chest, and Kingmichael hit the Escape macro, and bam! we were out of there as if we had never been there. Errrr... Well we did leave Windycheeks behind and he HPed back to Ru'lude Gardens like a hero.

So back in Jeuno I equipped my Gallant Coronet, and I admired it for about 30 minutes, and thought, wow, what an adventure.

lol...
congratz on your AF! what a story @_@;

there's one thing you might like to know incase you didn't... ^^;

behind Gate #3, there's a zone to Sauromongue Champaigne(SP)... Its at the spawn point furthest away from the Banishing Gate. your fellow mage could've tractored you all the way near the zone point and its safe to raise there =D (yup... been there, done that lol) Why i like camping in G#3 for this stupid coffer, coz the zone is kina an insurance to safety if your sneak wore at a wrong place.

i hate this coffer to be honest, helped 3 friends with it this week, tanked some aggro mobs (go whm tank!!!!!)... its been fun, but i still hate this coffer lol.

WELL DONE~

Lol, great post. I had a horrible time with my coffer in there as well. Went pretty much the same way. Key was only half the battle, low HP aggro, multiple deaths, and the big suprise that you can't get coffer while weakened.

Glad it all worked out for you. Congrats!!

Congradulations! I was one of the xp parties at the beginning of the zone leveling off bats and beetles when you all came through. I remember Windycheeks throwing a cure or two my tanks way helping us out.
