I was in jeuno yesterday and i saw this guy shouting in Lower Jeuno

Ankoperfection: 93 clothcraft 89 leathercraft 87 alchemy synthesis cheap! /t ankoperfection

at first i thought it was a scam, but either way i asked him to make somthing mid lvl alchemy for me, and to my suprise he did right before my eyes

i have him 2 dragon blood's and everything else, and he actually synthed my archer knives for me, one of which became +1

he charged me 100k for the both of them and went on his merry way

i LOVE this guy and i will always go to him for crafting

Is a scammer.

Will rip you off.

The chance of getting a hawkers +1 at that skill is incredibly low regardless.

Don't be fooled by this idiot.

I saw him shouting in Jeuno about his high level crafts too although I can't vouch for any of his claims. Reading all these threads on the boards about people stealing gil/items leaves me too pessimistic to trust a stranger with my stuff. Just curious but did you get ripped off twofold? Or are you just speculating or heard from someone else?

When did it stop being a fun game?
When it became a full-time job for some people to sell character accounts, gil, etc online. It then went from fun/hobby/recreation to work. And to think, lvling WHM already felt like work.

1 of 2 possibliities here:

Lenthia=Ankoperfection, or Lenthia is one of Anko's idiot friends who is helping him scam by advertising for him here.

He is widely known to be a scammer, and a loser, so don't fall for it.

On synthing Lu Shang's Rod -- not possible. A highly talented woodworker can repair a broken Lu Shang's, but cannot synth one out of thin air. That's probably what you saw.

I ran into Anko the other night and talked with him for about thirty seconds due to his listed crafting levels. Personally I've felt awkward trusting professional crafters ever since I played Ragnarok Online. The big crafter character there was a Blacksmith -- they were able to make weapons with better than normal stats, as well as weapons with elemental properties; they were the only way to get these kinds of items.

I got to see entirely too many people get scammed -- a blacksmith would offer their services for a cash fee plus the materials themselves, you're paying strictly for the attempt. The problem is that the weapons are worth so **** much that if the attempt is successful, the blacksmith is sorely tempted to keep the things and sell them, *and* keep your money. Greed is a part of human nature. While it's possible to find people who are honest and strictly do crafting for money, I would have to think of them as being the exception rather than the rule.

The only way to figure it out is to test them and to verify the story ... but sadly, that kind of proof is rarely done with items of great value. I still predict that the majority of high-level crafting assists will come from within someone's linkshell - it makes sense to only deal with those you trust.

The Lu Shang's rod can only be obtained initially via the moat carp quest, as far as I know (or buying it, of course - there're never any at the AH's, though). Synthesizing them is done via using a Light Crystal and a Broken Lu Shang's Rod. Hence, to synth one, you must have one and break it first. They seem to break fairly regularly on the boat, which is surprising since I've seen people using taru/composite/etc rods on the boat with a much lower break rate.
Whenever I ride the boat, there're always a couple of Japanese folks fishing with the Lu Shang rod, and I see them repairing it (Synthing it from the broken one) sometimes even twice in a single boat trip.

Actually there are usually Two LSP in the Jueno AH ^^ I don't feel like getting one, I will just use the basic rods, I do fine with them for now, not like i am a hardcore fisherman yet ^^
