Looking for old friends (Banditos LS)Follow

Howdeh folks! I stopped playing FFXI around 2 or so years ago, but have recently been thinking about coming back. I was part of a LS on Caitsith called Banditos and I was wondering if the LS itself or any of its members were still around?

I saw Brill posting, and I think I recognized that name, didn't you use to write some crazy awesome stories, Brill? Mostly I remember Dakren, Ryle, Neiva, Evilahru, Jarlaxe (whom got me invited!) and someone whos name started with a Z but was horribly hard to remember the spelling haha...

Anyway, my character name in game was Tzadkiel, I was a Monk/War most of the time I played. Wasn't very well known on the server, but hopefully someone from the LS will see this and post!

Edit: Just thought of the Z name, Zilos! Countless hours did he spend helping me camp for Kung Fu shoes haha

Aww, too bad so many folks left... I wish I woulda came back sooner now.. In any case, I appreciate the effort you went into digging all that info up, and I'll have to favorite that site so I can use it next time! Thanks!

Last I heard Deidre and Rayne went endgame with PanicMotion.
Dyluck is still around and I sometimes do assaults and salvage with him.
Eyloren does assaults and salvage with us. He's also doing endgame afaik.
I've seen Icky around, but no idea what he does.
I'm back to my original LS and leading it with Limbus, ZNMs, and various other HNM activities.
I haven't seen Magico in ages.
Narel runs my salvage/assault group and does a bit of everything.
Subzero is still around and forever lvling more jobs.
I've seen Pangy around, but no idea what he's been up to.
Furrow and Shippou still play. They've been doing assaults and salvage with us also.

That's all the people I can remember atm.

Believe me, most of that was pure role-playing of people faking themselves in order to "look cool" to Ryle and Dakren (yeah, it's silly).

When I came back to the game this year, Banditos was kinda recreated as "MachineGunFunk" (owned by Icky and Pangtong), but the LS didn't last too much time for some reason I don't understand. All of a sudden it was empty, and people were doing their stuff on other linkshells.

Ash told me you'd posted, so I had to swing by and say something, I'm not as forum-ey as I used to be. ;_; Currently, I'm recently back from an 18 month hiatus, working on my black belt, and getting SAM to 75. I might be working on DNC, too, if the group 2 merits and relic aren't complete trash. As it is, I stopped at 62 because there was just nothing left to look forward to apart from grinding it to 75. ;_;

Magico's back into being an actuary, from the last I heard, he's taken up residence in the state of Texas, which I suppose means he's stopped teaching. ; ; He used to log on every Sunday afternoon, but I haven't seen him since I began working night shift. It sucks to hear you're having to restart. =( If you need anything, just send me a tell or a POL message or something, I'll be happy to beat the ass of whatever needs beaten. And then to tie it to a rock, throw it off a cliff, jump down after it, and beat its ass some more.

Also, yeah, Dyluck, for some reason, a huge part of Banditos was the battle to fit in. I never really did understand that... I've mellowed over the years, but apart from that time I told Eilena to **** herself with a spatula and called her an elitist **** for telling me monks suck at Promyvions, then I AFK hamburgered, I don't really remember myself as being a huge *******. Although I did **** my fair share of ****, ****** ********s. With a rake.

Nope, it isn't.

If you have your POL ID written down and either:
a) the original install discs (and registration keys)
b)the original credit card information for the account.

Call the CSR's, you can get it restored.
I did it with Ashkente, about a year ago, after a 18month hiatus.

And if you like, I can go punch the living tar out of Dakren for you right now, since he shares a house with my wife and I.

The registration keys are linked to the character, not the platform. That means you can recover your PS2 char and retrieve the PC installation from some well-known torrent tracker.

Ya... tbh though, the only thing I had on that account was the levels. When I left I sold everything I had, gear, materials, furniture, the lot. If I coulda sold my moogle at the time I would have.

I'll keep trying, but for now I'm gonna go ahead and start playing. I'll be on a new Tzadkiel in a few minutes, if I get my old toon back, i'll just delete this one.

I think I had just hit 62 when I quit, so pretty high, but nothing I can't get to again if worst comes to worst.

Hey Pang! I remember ya, good to know you're still around!

Well, I spent the first couple weeks farming grain seeds and leveling jobs from 1-15. After I made enough to buy some pots for my mog house I invested in some lowbie gear and went to get my subjob items from the dunes, did that a few days ago. So far everythings goin good!

Thanks to all my old and new friends who have helped in the recent weeks that I have been back. Its amazing to come back here after playing a game like WoW which has a very sub-par community support.
