Hello everyone , just wanted to stop by and say I am new to FFXI and I am looking for any one that help me get started on FFXI. MY name is Gambitt, if any one is willing to show me some things and help out that would be great. Thanks in advance.

Hello! I am new also :D
I choose Bismark because it had lots of posts/replys hoping it would be an active server.
So far the server seems pretty dead :( This game seems like its pretty intensively based on partying, but so far all people same-level to me were little 2-3 people parties that seemed to be 1 person with multi chars and no intention of partying with other peoples...
Hopefully things will get better as I advance in the game, I don't want a lonely experience
Initially when I started I started on a dead server :( and on average would see another player every 6 hours or so.

Depends what you mean by dead server. Honestly I don't think its dead at all but it could just be me. Anyway /tell Alanoth if you need an LS or something :D

Yes in b/w Alanoth having a life and not, he will have time to show you what not to do in 5 years of playin. LOL I <3 ala :p Seriously though, if you are looking for a laid back social ls to start out with hit us up. It's Serenade, talk to Agarta or me when you get on.
some good advice, if you manage to find a shell with people you enjoy being around, stay with them.
dont jump ship and leave them for some hnm ls when you cap. that LS will probably have spent alot of time building you up and helping you on your missions and quests.
dont expect everyone you meet to be honest, alot of people have been ripped off because they trusted someone, and that person stole thier stuff.
it sux to spend months farming for something you really want and then some jackass borrows it and steals it.
dont let the uber players talk down to you, they were noobs once too.
dont let other players turn your game into a job. they can siphon all the fun out of it.
remember everyone who helped you, you will get the chance eventualy to return the favor.
