So I've ran with a few groups in the past, and I've done a bunch of runs on my own. I'm a little frustrated as I've probably done 100 runs and the only items I have to show for it are a few piece of Usukane that would have rotted.
When you think of the time investment, at about 1 hours worth of Assaults per Salvage run, and the 100 minutes per salvage, that's rather depressing.
So it's time to stop fooling around and do it myself!
What I'm looking for is a group of 6-10 members.
The system I will use is simple.
1) Pick a set of gear that you will lot.
Example
Singular - Usukane.
2) Pick one specific piece of gear per zone.
Example
Zhaylom Remnants - Hoshikazu Kayahan
Silver Sea Remnants - Tsukikazu Sune-Ate
Bhaflau Remnants - Hikazu Sune-Ate
Arrapago Remnants - Hoshikazu Gi
3) We farm one zone until the members in the set have their desired piece.
Random drops and repeat drops are free lotted by any player that can use them.
When a zone doesn't allow for Farming and a Boss fight, we'll alternate between Boss and NM Farming.
I'm looking at Monday and Wednesday at around 5:30 PM EST, and then possible runs on the weekend.

Edited because I keep getting asked what days and what time even though it's in the post, so I'll make it a little more obvious.
Salvage will be held twice a week at 5:30 PM EST, Monday and Wednesday with an optional run planned for one day on the weekend.

Good Luck with this! I'd like to join a set of anything..I'm just not strong enough yet. :) If you're still looking in about 20 levels from now for me I'd love to join. ;)
SIng I think HoF does Salvage 1-2 times a week. did you want to do it more then that?
I asked the LS if they had any interest. Nobody responded, nor have I heard about a single run of Salvage in the first 1.5 weeks I've been there. I actually think I was told that they would like to start a salvage group if there was interest, so I don't think they do any Salvage. maybe you are thinking Limbus?

Also I would prefer to run my own group as like I said, I'm tired of helping everyone else improve at the expense of my own time/assault points.

I'll have to look you up sometime. This is something that I have been looking to do more of in the game.
Hey Sing its me Koji :D Glad to see you have time to yourself aside from saving tarus in the past. Well anyways I am in a salvage LS an we do salvage once a week if your interested. we're still a bit new to a few things but otherwise i think we're good. You can ask Tubby for a pearl or something if you are interested but otherwise I wont be back until Friday.
edit: oh yeah we do salvage on sunday at 9pm est

I intend to go 2 weekdays with the set I'm forming, and if there's interest, once on the weekend. However, I usually have the points to go once a day, or even twice in one day on some days, so I'm definitely interested in some extra runs. Especially because you and Tubby are so much fun.

I have never done Salvage, but I would be interested. I always enjoy new activities. It'll give me something to do, other than sitting in Whitegate reading shouts and staring at the walls.
I would love to do a Salvage run, I am looking to do events during the week due to my hectic work schedule. Salvage, Einhejar, Limbus, Dynamis etc... Once work calms down I will be looking to do more per se. Sadly, I don't have the time to camp for 5 hours at this time, but I will send you a tell and see where it goes from there, but 5:30 is really really early in the day for me since I am just getting home from work around that time.
Anyway, we will wait and see what happens, It'll be interesting to talk to you or anyone else out that interested in doing anything event wise. I know a lot of you from other sites such as KI, BG or from the server. Feel free to message me anywhere you feel comfortable, even in game. This could be a good thing.
Edit: My wife also plays on Bismarck and would be interested also, she's a very skilled at all Mage jobs and like me has been around since the Beta. I look forward to meeting a lot of you guys!

How long do these runs usually last? 5:30 is a good time for me but I have to leave for work at 8:30 on wed night so if 3 hrs is not enough time then I will move along. I also only have brd and whm 75 atm so if thats not needed either I will move along.
Salvage lasts 100 minutes with no time extensions so that would work out really well. Shoot me a /tell in game and we'll chat! Thanks.
Just a Bump-update.
First week wasn't bad, though no NM drops to show for it.
The roster for Melee is full, so unless one or two of the current Melee drop in the set, we likely won't be adding any more.
We are still currently seeking support roles and a THF for pulling/TH purposes.
So, if you'd like a Salvage set, we meet Monday and Wednesday at 5:30 PM EST. Once we get consistent we will work on a Sunday run.

I'll be on leave starting Monday 14 JULY so I will be free all week for whatever. Also BLM is what I was expecting so that's cool and the occasionally THF is no problem also.

Well the Salvage set pretty much went like this.
I was the only one to make 100% of the runs.
Of the about 30 different people that told me they were interested, only about 5 actually were. Those 5 I did see show a serious interest, it apparently wasn't serious to bother showing up to more than half the runs. (Only 2 days a week)
I had about 15 people that showed up for one run.
I had about 7~8 people that posted, or PMd me that were interested but never showed up.
The truth is, I can't count on anyone to take this seriously, and after 5 weeks, I'm sick of shouting for pick-ups.
Maybe some other time I'll be capable of finding 6-10 serious people, but as it is now, I've just increased my lack of faith in the FFXI community.
