OKay Im seriously becoming annoyed by this. FFXI recommended drivers are 56.64 for nvidia. And they work great...for final fantasy.
Ever try and play battlefield 2? They make u install 77.30.
So I was complaining to my friend about this today when we decided to play battlefield 2 he said Square should upgrade or something. I cant just play I have to install those drivers adn then after Im done when I wanna play FF I have to reinstall the 56.64 drivers or else FF lags to hell when a spell is cast. Then repeat process next time I wanna play battlefield, install, reboot, play, install reboot play. Its annoying.
Are there newer drivers that I could use to avoid this? Anyone else have this problem? Advice?

I think the problem with 77.30 is that they are not meant for older GFX cards. 56.64 is the last stable version, later means FF XI has to compensate, causing the problems.

Friend of mine installed a V9999 or something, using latest drivers, and had no problems with FF XI whatsoever.

Does BF2 REQUIRE those drivers, or just recommend them?

BF2 requires you install the 77 series it will not accept anything older. If it detects your running older graphics drivers it will not run adn then will tell u to install more current drivers.

I keep a copy of both sets of drivers on my desktop and switch back and forth depending on which game I am playing. Takes maybe 3-5 minutes to change them.
