How is Anybody supposed to make money on this Server >&ltFollow

#1 Aug 08 2005 at 6:50 PM Rating: Decent
I have been playing for over 1 1/2 years and never had over 1mil gil. With all the danm gil sellers Farming Every danm mobs item worth over 10k it makes it almost impossible to get gil. So please Some 1 give me Some ideas on how To get some gil. So maybe 1 day i can exchange my Fighters lorica With a HArbearuk or even a Scorpion harness.

Here's my tip:

It takes money to make money. Once you get that 500k don't spend it, fool. Getting 1mil and buying a 1mil item is basically starting over from scratch, not too smart.

... Oh right. I know why you're broke haha. "NIN41". If you are a GOOD ninja (and I'll assume you are) then you spam the elemental wheel to keep hate. You are losing more gil doing this than many rangers. Of course, this is if you're a good ninja. I haven't met many good ninja to date :/

Here's another tip ^^

To make money, don't play the most fu[/u]ckin expensive job in the game, eh? Sorry if that sounds harsh, but, it's the truth.

Ok then I recommend mining maybe? Do a little Goldsmithing or Smithing and get those ores turned into ingots for a nice chunk o' change? Or go farm things that ... high lvls... farm. Hell idk find something profitable you can farm off of, or go mine I guess.

BCNM 40's with your NIN.

BCNM 60's with your WAR.

Those should net you a lot of money. Especially the BCNM 60's, you can get some 1 mil+ items from those. ^.^

LOL Nickeny XD

Yeah you could probably farm Haku eyes? All of them sell well afaik, I see them in bazaars all the time ^^

I know a blm I could maaaaaaaybe refer you to for KS scorp fights, but I'm not sure if her group does those runs anymore. And I don't want to post her name here so she gets some massive spam from people wanting to do them >.>

Yeah you could fish, takes about 1k to start with, then you just make money. Research some things, and you can turn a decent gil. Even more once you reach lvl 12 or so+

There's also ENM that WAR are good in, especially the 30 cap ones.

Really, it's not hard to make gil...at all. -.-

you're not going to be able to solo those hecteyes as a warrior, red mage's can do it, warriors cannot.

burning eyes are the most overcamped hakutaku eye, i can never sell them anymore

go back to the basics, farm low level craft items that crafters use, or work up a craft skill, or take up gardening

the gilsellers aren't everywhere, you're just assuming they are

ENM's are a GREAT way to get items. Go look them up on Mysterytour, we did an ENM50 and got a 2million gil katana last night.

Its not easy.
Have you tried a craft?
Go farm beehive chips and craft them into Beeswax.
If I remember correctly they sell around 25k or so a stack Jeuno.
Or you could just sell the chips themselves.
If your looking for get rich quick it BCNMs and ENMs.

Best Way to make money while leveling a new job would be by farming the items used for crafting or crafting them and selling the finished product.

1.)Example: Farm Fungus like animal in Ronf. along with the sheep for dark crystals, craft sheep leather, it goes fast in sandy and for a good price. Take the money saved up from crafting these for a week or two (if you do this day in and out, say 7 stacks a day) you should have close to 1/2 a million gil within a week if you farm the materials (besides windy tea leaves but they are dirt cheap). Also levels Leathercraft from 0 - 2.

2.) Farm Beehive chips as suggested in another Post. This is not terribly hard to do especially with a lv 71 warrior in a lv 1-10 zone. You could sell the individual stacks of chips or save them to level Alchemy from 0 - 5. Since the behive chips can be obtained from the bee's and fire crystals can be obtained from killing the birds (from a low level job) in Gustaberg the only expense is distilled water which runs around 144 gil a stack.

There are more ways. Harvesting, Logging and Mining are all profitable if you work long enough. Again quoting someone else but it's hard to make money but there is money to be made.

Then why are you ********* If you dont want to take the time to lvl yout Theif to farm then just dont complain. I mean making gil takes some type of effort. Fact.

I personally have 4 mules that I garden with and play the AH system looking for buy low/sell high scenarios and another mule that i farm the rounfare region with and just CRAFT everything i find into sellabe items with. That farm character is fun to play (I mean cmon ive killed JEJ 16 times now..0/16 ;; just by being there when he was spawned), and some of the crafts ar appraching the 20's in skill and I have paid 0 gil toget them there.

In short there are MANY ways to make money in this game and ALL of them take some modicum off effort. If you dont have the time or are unwilling to spend that time and effort then you wil be poor or a gilbuyer.

Are you trying to make money, or just hoping to whichever deity you believe in ? ... If you believe in TH's effectiveness, soloing thf to level 15 takes little enough time and will grant you a good amount of crystals and other drops.
I think steal helps much more than TH in making money, though.

Subbed Treasure Hunter is highly overrated imo.

Last weekend, I went to the jungle, I killed lizards for kicks. With RDM sub. Got marble on second kill.
Last weekend also, I was running around with RNG sub. I somehow got 4 coeurl hides in 20 minutes.

When I farm per say, I usually have THF sub. Either it takes some time to kick in, or I never have luck in the first 30-45 minutes ! =)

KSNM30, Operation desert Swarm. Despite the number of 5BLM+1pickup's out there doing this it is very feasable to do with a good "normal" party.

Using the following setup we have been successful probably 95% of the runs. I think we failed the first time because we were new to the process.

Setup your PT like this:

Main Tank: WAR/NIN or MNK/NIN (the reason for /nin is actually holding hate is not the issue, its staying alive while solo. PLD is not ideal because you wont deal enough damage to solo one of the scorps efficiently.)

WHM
RDM or BRD (I prefer RDM but BRD should work)
BLM

Second Tank: RDM/NIN or THF/NIN or any of the above, though i still would recommend against PLD since it lacks Damage dealing.

DD Can be any good DD.

Process:

When you enter the fight they look like this:

B1 B2 B3
A1 A2 A3

2 rows of 3 scorps. Start the fight with the BLM Elemental Seal + Sleepga 2 on the whole bunch. BTW All members should be 70+ esp the BLM and RDM so sleep doesnt get as resisted as often.

Have the main tank run in and Grab A3 and have the alt tank run in and grab A1 bot hshould then pull them to the far sides of the arena. The DD can then assist either one depending on which needs some extra DD. IF the DD gets hate disengage, wait til the tank gets hate back then go help with the other mob.

Make sure RDM and BLM keep stoneskin and blink up and have them alternate sleeping the ones that wake up. As you fight keep the fight spread out with the 2 tanks on opposite sides. the reaopsn for this is one of the AOE's the scorps do will wake up the sleeping ones.

BLM and RDM can debuff the ones being faught but should avoid nuking to start. Once it's down to the last one have mages stabnd back while its being faught. (in case you didnt know they get progressively stornger as you kill them, making the last one the hardest).

Basically just go all out on the last one and it will be a pushover.

Anyway Damascene cloth, Orichal. Ingot and Venemous Claw drop from this. I personally tend to do Orb Owner takes all but you can also sell/split. Can be a good moneymaker.

<-- bored at work.

If you go mining, dont go gusgen. Gilsellers have the majority of the mining points camped now.

So, wait..

You're a WAR71 who spends all his time in sky.. with only /NIN leveled.. and apparentally you've never made a single purchase of a million gil or more.. and, in spite of all this time you spend in sky, you somehow fail to make any money at all?

Dear god.

Level your THF up to 15 for TH. Then level it up to 37 as a sub for WAR. At that point you'll probably take it to 45 for the sake of TH2. Unless, of course, you're too busy being broke in sky to make any money.

just an example, my woodworking is 91+2 and i find it cheaper to buy than to craft my own shihei because people sell it so cheap.
