If you try and finish the NPC quest now, you'll get to the BCNM hut and see this:

Nice to see that despite the frustration of the update, players in Bismarck can be civilised enough to form a queue and wait their turn for a BCNM.

Admittedly it was too much queue for me, I bailed ^^

Yeah it's like that on a lot of servers. To be honest I'm in awe they're actually in line and not crowding the door like the grand opening of a new Wal Mart.

Imagine the ??? in Eldieme...

when i started into the line... there was about 20 ppl in front of me... 4 and a half hours later i get to the door and about 5 ppl who thought waiting was below them. took me awhile but i got it done. im happy now

Too bad the line hurts more than it helps, it would be more fair having the people who are willing actually stay there to spam, let the ones who aren't willing wait till it clears.

-_- I waited for six hours on that line. Everything was very nice, people took turns.

Once I actually reached the door, I was about four guys back...everyone started cutting left and right. It devolved into a mob, a nightmare...after six hours of waiting, I said ***** this, warped, logged.

This game makes me want to strangle myself sometimes. -_-

That's part of the problem, also what happens if someone has to go? All that time wasted, or they D/C? Chances are they'll have a hell of alot of trouble getting back on with the way the server is congested. The line was made with good intentions, but it doesn't help, it screws people who have something come up and considering half the line is probably afk throughout their entire wait they don't deserve to have priority over someone just cause they can get there first. The wait is just too long for it to work.

It's called first come, first serve. It's a very old tenet of civilized cultures that basically says "we all have an equal right to (insert something desireable), so we'll agree that the only deciding factor in who receives (desireable commodity) first will be the one who arrives earliest. We'll form a queue so that we know who is next in order of priority"

You're assuming that because you may not have a lot of time, you somehow have priority over somebody who's been standing there in line for the past four hours, patiently waiting their turn. The whole point is that we're all agreeing that the person in front of us has priority, and we have priority over the person behind us. I can't believe I actually have to explain this.

This way everyone in line is equally entitled to the commodity. No one has priority... except the person in front of you. That's the whole point of a queue.

Ok, here's an example: So lets say you go into a fast food restaurant. You're standing there in line, politely like everyone else, the line's to the door but you have time, you're just really looking foreward to your hamburger and fries. Nice greasy stuff, you know? So you're about half way down the line when you look at your watch and remember you have to be somewhere within the next 15 minutes. Now, if you leave right now, you can get there, maybe be fashionably late, but you'll get there generally on time. But crap, you're not going to be able to get your food in time if you wait in line. So what do you do?

Most normal people would say "well, thems the breaks. I guess I'll have to get my value meal later."

Only a 100% grade-A ******* actually cuts in front of everyone else who's been waiting in line.

Things like lines and queues are there to make situations like the NPC quest, where everyone and their immediate family wants to get into that hut in ghelsba at the same time, can proceed in an orderly, efficient fashion. By cutting in line, no matter how justified you may feel, you're putting the entire affair into chaos.

If you have to leave the line for any reason... thats your problem, not everyone else's. If people are willing to let you back in (and I saw it happen yesterday), then that just shows how generous people can be... but you're not entitled to hit that ??? on the door first because you forgot you had to go do laundry, or you have homework to do. If you don't have time to wait in line... do it later.

With the behavior seen in this game in general, are you sure you can't believe it ? ; ;

But this game doesn't work on first come for serve, you didn't earn anything by getting there first, hence why someone can step right in front you and get in right before you,. And for the record I didn't cut in line, because I felt bad for all the people who did wait, I felt they actually did "earn" something by waiting there, but the line should have never started in the first place, then the people who weren't willing to spam would leave.

Yeah I'd like to see you try and NOT line up for tickets at a movie theater when the opening is like star wars eps 3. If this game allowed Player killing like Diablo 2 everyone who cut would have their *** kicked.
You dont have the time? Dont bother coming out then. You might have to go because your gf or bf might call? Dont expect to get your spot back. Its like leaving the theater line for an hour and then coming back and expecting to get it back.
Line was an awesome Idea. I was truely impressed that many of us could actually act civil. Well the line was well behaved. But it sucked that when I actually got to the front of the line there were a bunch of pricks just zoning in and spam clicking the ??? my poor buddy t-lou and the SecVic gang couldnt pop the NM because the spam clickers screwed them. Totally not fair.
I personally didnt bother with the 2nd NM because I waited an hour and 15 min in line for the first NM fight and I heard the gheleshba outpost line was like a 2 hour wait. So Im gonna wait a day or 2 for the line to die a bit. Or at least i hope it dies a bit.

I Finnaly got the update and logged in last night.

Shortly after I did, a system message came up, something along the lines of:

We need to do emerangcy mantance in the gheleshba area, players should leave to avoid data damage due to improper logout.

If that was the correct message, all I can say is "Ouch"

Yeah I was there, that's when they changed it so that 3 people could enter the battlefield in a party instead of it being one-on-one, because that fight simply takes too long with all the cutscenes and the line got extremely long.

That fight is stupid-easy now. :p

Hey look it's me! *eyes the Jujitsu Gi MNK in the back*.

Yeah it wasn't too bad of a line, I actually d/ced 4 people from the hut, luckily after 10 minutes of trying I made it back and got my spot back, on deck, so to speak.

Humorously enough, though kinda sucky, the guy who had been waiting in front of me for so long couldn't enter the BC, I suppose he didn't flag it correctly.

Even though I was next to go, it took me 5 tries to get in... I don't quite remember the names, but I think people told me the ones who cut in front of me were Cheng, Samwise, Kiing, and someone else.

Hoodlum was in front of me, but he didn't cut, least not while I was there. Not sure if the fact that he was getting spam cured had anything to do with that *shrugs*

It was a pretty fun time, and looking at the blue line on the radar was funny.

peace,
CR

Waited in the ghelsba line for about 2 hours to get it done...the line worked well. When we reached the ramp leading to the door i decides to put on my level 32 weapon...didnt realize how many ppl were on follow...lol...we all had a good laugh and somehow got the line back in order

So far the 2 line I waited in were kinda fun...i guess it depends who ya wait with...i saw some funny chat and emotes while there^^

I laughed about the line and thought it was strange but it worked. The number of people that are there could do a number on your reputation if you cut. I cant say its the worst thing to be known for but this game is all about your rep. If you dont want to wait in line just do the quest next week I am willing to bet you will bealbe to walk up to the door with no problem.

I just feel bad for the people doing the sandy dragon or the save the children. I guess all the new dragoons will have to wait a few weeks.
