Bored during the update?...Follow

Bored while FFXI is being updated, new servers are getting put in, and then how EVERYONE is trying to load the new patch making it so you can't do so for two days? Read the latest Chapter of ************ (I Love You)[/i] (shameless plug there), and all the FAQs for your job/craft/quest/mission?

Then...

Why not play a Final Fantasy game?

I got linked to this fan FF game a couple of days ago...and I must say that it is surprisingly good, if a little bit short (took me fifteen hours to complete it).

Basic story backdrop (no spoilers): The sun of the world, Coyas, is starting to become a super nova. Yet...for some unknown reason the sun doesn't go nova, and overtime people forget about this danger. A war that happened almost half a mellinium ago destroyed a once all powerful nation, and forced its people to wonder the plant aimlessly. Yet, some scientist discovers how to travel in space, and further, how to colonize astroids for the people that are descendants of the fallen empire.

There are seven playable characters, each with their own personality. There are a lot of side quests, and even a working casino here^^. The graphics are in the style of FFII and FFIII (from the SNES), and some (ok, most) of the music is recycled from previous FF games, but still quite enjoyable. But...Cid's in it!

In my opinion...this game isn't perfect, but its a good way to spend your free time waiting to play FFXI again.

If you are interested in giving it a shot, you need to install this program first:RPG Maker 2000

Then download and run this.

Once that is done, download the game here: Final Fantasy: Endless Nova, and unzip.

Instructions for the game are here.

Then load the game from RPG Maker 2000, and you are good to go!
