Starting this year, the Developers' Room will no longer contain announcements regarding version updates. However, articles regarding all upcoming features can be found right here on the official FINAL FANTASY XI homepage. In addition to update information, we will also be expanding the Topics section to include everything from general information and event notices to suggestions brought up by you, the players!

That comes from the Official FFXI website. When this becomes available to us, you should defiantely send this in.

If they won't put in a pirate class, they should at least put in an eyepatch. If they can do eyeglasses, they can do eyepatches.

And peglegs.

And a YAAARRRR emote.

/yar

Nataraja bellows "YAAARRRR!"

Make the motion the same as Provoke, just without the inexplicable ball of red light. Smiley: tongue

Make another support job called Pirate. We need more Refresher/Debuffer types so badly. Give Pirate ability to make alchoholic drinks and pass it around for buffs or splash it on mobs as debuffs. Think of Pirates as super refreshers that cost money per refresh, similar RNG's arrow or NIN's blinks. *cough think Capt. Morgan*

Also give Pirate dubuff skill that's only usable in melee. Skills such as Ripostle (Attack debuff) and Armor Breach (armor debuff). Think of Pirate as a voilent, melee BRD that fights dirty.

And also make it mandatory for every pirate micros to start and end with an "ARRRRR!!" XD

Very fun read. I'd be interested in how you would implement Geomancers, Blue Mages, Alchemists, and Gamblers. :D

Great idea, I think it was well done, but I just want to point something out about your quest to unlock it (WHich you probably already knew XD) That scurvy is a lack of Vitamin C, so giving him an Orange would solve it just fine. XD Sorrry I had to point that out. ^^; I think a differant name might be better as well, like Corasir or something perhaps? But really, it was a great idea and well done. : )

Awesome idea.

i can see tons of people going PRT/SAM

and PRT being one of the better up jobs for it's skills, especially when it comes to god raids, and the temp - removal of TP/MP moves.

Lol, how did I know as soon as I saw the title of the post who it was going to be by? ;p I agree fully though, if ever a new job is introduced, it should definatly be pirate. Nin/Prt all the way!

I seen this post somewhere else before. People should find better things to do with their time lol

Scurvy... isn't that a lack of Vitamin C, which causes old wounds to open due to scar tissue dissolving?

Just give the old geezer some orange juice, a serious reprimand about eating his veggies, and take his treasure while he's still weak...

Pirate job is a nice idea, though. The AF might even ecclipse RDM AF :) I don't think it's viable though, especially with the partial TP abilities.

Bumping this due to the discussion over 1up's interview with Hiromichi Tanaka and he confirms that Blue Mage is not the only new job with the expansion.

Interview is here:

http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?pager.offset=0&cId=3145765

Quote:
1UP: I'm sure you can't be specific, but is Blue Mage the only job you plan to add to Treasures, or do you plan to add others and/or Summons?

HT: I can't say how many new jobs, but Blue Mage is not the only one. And when you say that new summons were not implemented in Chains of Promathia, you're assuming that Chains of Promathia is already finished... [laughs]

"But why is all the rum gone?!?!?!"

Hadda say it. All I know is that with Pirate, Rum would have to be a new Cooking recipie.

Rum, 8 year old: Level 55 synth
TP gained: +5%, Pirates only (Similar to Bst jugs), Vit -3, Evasion -5, direction sense lessened.
HQ: Rum 14 years old. TP +10% Vit -2, Dex -2, Agi -2, Evasion -2
HQ2: Rum 20 years old. TP +15%, Dex -1, Agi -1

(On the direction sense, can you imagine all the druken taru running around Windurst? d^^b)
#47 Nov 17 2005 at 11:53 AM Rating: Good
What would be funnier is that when you are under the effect of Rum, your control pad for directions is reversed :D That would give the effect of drunkeness, people trying to figure out how to steer with their controls backwards.

Actually, the controls would be switched up at random intervals. Up would become down, and after XX seconds it would become left. Right would become up and then left. Plus they'd have to include an update to some of the files for bobbing motions.

Hehe, the description for this was like a mini-fanfic in itself. The thing is, though, that the pirates of Norg already give you hints as to what it is pirates do. They equate themselves to summoners but more for undead. So (to me anyway) I think of them as a type of necromancer. I know it is odd, but I swear that is similar to what one of them says. Then again can you really trust a pirate?

They have mithra pin-ups by their bunks. If you don't believe me, look for yourself. ^_~*

Oh, and instead of PRT, I figured it'd be PIR. /shrug
