I can't even count the number of times I've hit ctrl+r to type to someone. And I'm also guilty of hitting L1 (or LB on my 360) to keep my character moving in other video games.
You know you're addicted to FFXI when you start saying auto translate phrases IRL. I'm not kidding. I've been known to say 'do you need it?' and 'can I have it?' IRL. (And nothing beats saying el-oh-el out loud.)
Also, I work at a video store. Every weekend, the new releases for that week just completely fly off the shelves, and 9/10 customers are looking for the same movie. When one comes back and we check it in, we pretty much put it back out immediately. When you're out there putting one back, you can already feel everyone's eyes watching you as they hope to see the movie they want go back on the shelf. No lie, I've tried explaining to a coworker that this must be what an NM feels like...

2. When you name files on other video games after your character names from FFXI.
3. You are at work and you start humming some songs from FFXI.
4. When someone asks what kind of job you have and you respond 75 red mage.
5. when you get mad at a friend instead of hitting him, you put your hand in his face and shout firaga III and seem to feel very stupid.
These sort of things have indeed happened to me but i never thought they were funny but i figured worth sharing.

You start introducing yourself to other RL friends(who also play ffxi) as,
Thyna, Beastmaster only.
Your last four dates have been with someone who also play.
Try to explain to your RL friends who don't play how you are fine with the game and you have control over it, and right away asking for your lipstick since you are sure you left it in your inventory(referring to your purse ;.;).
You know where Pugils have their eyes.
You look at another girl with a chihuahua and you realize how is a horrible choice as pet, low hp, low vit...

when in said game you start keeping track of everyones status while traveling around so you can heal them when injured because your a whitemage and its your pride on your line to have someone injured...

You know your a FFXI junky when your g/f has to throw your PS2 across the room an begin to smash her way threw the plastic(with a HAMMER) to the HDD. Just to get you to spend more quality time together.
