At what level can one beat rank 6 with a full group? I know someone on this forum has to be rank 6+ :P
(No, I'm not asking someone to walk me through it, I just wanted to know when to take my LS mates, we're all around 40-50 now).

I have a rank 8 in my LS, and he said 60ish.

I think a 55-58 PT could take out Shadowlord. You just have to be careful travelling to the Throne Room, the monsters outside will kill you a lot quicker than the shadow lord will.
i heard 55+ with no member under 50. You need a godo mix of DD physical and DD magic since you fight him several times with different weaknesses.
There is no cap on this fight so you can bring in like a high level tank and that should help alot.
I have done 5-1 and still need 5-2, 5-1 has a cap of 50.
Let me know if you need a whm for 5-2 i'd be glad to help.
I HIGHLY suggest for 5-1 using 1-2 if not 3 monks all willing to use their 2 hour at the beginning.
The fight should take less than 2 minutes that way.
3 monks BLM,WHM + ???? should be nice. Oh yea don't even bother trying to sleep the minions.

But I have to strongly disagree. I do not think a party of lvl 55+ can beat Shadowlord. I personally think you need to be a minimum of lvl 58+ everyone with melee closer to lvl 60 if possible. The first time i beat it, we were only 5 because the 6th member hadnt finished quest correctly. But at that point we were all 60 with the blm at 62. We had to use drinks and such, because mages were low on mp.
If you have to remember only two things, remember this: the blm cannot be under 58. And whatever you do, you MUST bring a blm. Dont think about going without one.
Apart from that, the strats are fairly accurate on Alla, its a regular fight at first, the second stage is all curaga/nuking.
