You know, I've quit and returned to this game more times than I can count on my hands. Anyways, going to be returning after the servers come back up (I've been having an "ITCH" to play).. I'm sure all of my old shells are dead, so I'm looking for a social (firstly/priority) and then probably an abyssea shell soon after.

Looking to get the game in the mail today and will be joining the Asura server. Looking to join a linkshell community. =)

I used to play on Pandemonium back in 2006 so it's been a while since I played.

Hey guys, almost a total newb entering the game. I played this game 7 years ago, and I only got my WHM to 20 or so after I completed the subjob quest and quit after my friends did. I've read up about this game recently and I would love to give it another shot. It was my first MMO and I loved the little that I played.

My character's name is, "thevillain" and I have started out in Bastok. As I get back into this game I would love to join others, help, be helped. Thanks a lot everyone :) I look forward to getting back into this great game!

Joining for the first time onto Asura. I am going to make a Mythra Thief and proceed to be a dancer I think.

There are NPCs that sell some of the lower level gear, but most of the higher stuff is either crafted or quested and thus easiest to get from the AH. FFXIclopedia (called simply the Wiki by some) is your best bet for game-related information (e.g. to help you find where these npcs are located), so go browsing around there when you have some time and see what you can find. Looking for party is going to be the best way to meet people, and most of us here on Asura are pretty helpful (and the rest won't be able to resist the chance to tell you how to do your job ), so don't hesitate to ask questions to people. Hello! I'm new to the game and the server and very excited to play with you all!

Hi everyone! I'm Drusenija (or Dru if that's easier to spell ^^). I originally started playing back in 2004, but stopped around 2007 or so, and then came back briefly in 2009 before having to leave again due to Square not accepting my card as a valid payment method.

However, on a whim I reinstalled the game this weekend and tried my new card, and lo and behold, I'm once again walking the streets of Vana'diel!

I was heavily involved in roleplay linkshells back when I used to play (and still have the linkshell for the last incarnation of the Children of Altana for anyone who remembers us), and usually have much more fun experiencing the world itself rather than beating on enemies.

Due to the fact I have young children I tend to avoid playing in parties as at any moment I may need to have to run away from my PC to grab them, but if you can deal with that, then I'm happy to come along to a party!

I never got beyond level 37 on my Red Mage job when I used to play, so I'm not high level by any stretch, but if you see me online, say hi, and if I can help with anything (or if you want someone to party with in the Dunes or Qufim), send me a tell!

I know the level cap is working it's way up to 99 at the moment, but if I could get to 60 with full AF gear, I would be able to leave the game happy :)

Finally, someone who understands! :) Mine are more spread (6 1/2 and 1 1/2 at the moment) but last time I was playing regularly my 6 year old was about 2 1/2, so I know exactly what you're going through ^^

I'm in Australia and tend to play late in my evening (partly to avoid said issues with my kids, and partly due to my often bizarre work hours due to the fact I work with Europe a lot), but if you're around, look me up! I'm still trying to work out what's changed in the last 18 months (and I don't have any of the Abyssea expansions yet), so I'm not generally doing anything I can't drop.

Hey all. I'm returning after about 4-5 years of being away to play various games (WoW, Rift, Aion, etc). I really miss story lines and am looking forward to delving into more of them in FFXI than I got to before I quit. When I left, Sea and Sky had just come out I think, or maybe it was Aht Urgan...hell I can't remember.

Anyway, I reactivated an old ID and started a fresh one. They're on Titan which is merging soon but I've found Asura to be more active so I'll be paying to transfer all my guys/gals over pretty soon. Had some install issues so I haven't had time to even leave the mog house I last logged out in when I quit lol, so I'll be playing for a bit before I transfer but I'm on my way :).

Anyway, I'll be watching the forums until (and after) I transfer so I'll see ya's around. I'll be looking for a social/casual LS when I do transfer.

Hey all, i'm pretty fresh to ffxi -played years upon years ago, lost track but only up to 10 or so- and i've always wanted to play this game..so why not now. Still kind of confused on to what to be..I got a level 11 Thief but i'm on the fence about what to pick up at 18/30 lol.

Anyway, looking for a friendly linkshell to help ease me along this from what i've heard, rather trial and error road.

Back almost a month now. Leveled MNK45 DNC30 THF20 WAR20 almost all solo. Still looking for a friendly LS to do stuff with. All this solo play is getting kinda boring. What I need : I'm just trying to find a nice linkshell that likes to help others and doesn't mind new players. So far I'm MNK level 17 and I got a RDM friend who is leveling up with me and we're both trying to find a linkshell but haven't had any luck so far. We're both older players that didn't play very much before for various reasons but came back to the game because of the recent updates that seemed to fix a lot of the issues we were having :) We aren't experts on the game but we've read a LOT of stuff about it and are constantly looking things up and figuring things out. We play almost all day every day for the most part at the moment. I'm personally just trying to rush to 30 as fast as possible and *then* I will feel like I can thoroughly just sit back and enjoy the game a little more...I don't really enjoy monk so far but it's ok until I can get a class at 30 that is a bit more interesting. Was taking a look at a COR/DNC combination and it really seems like something I would enjoy :) though BLU or PUP seem interesting to me as well. We'll see where I go once I hit 30.

We're gonna attempt the subjob quest tonight after we hit 18 xD so wish us luck!
