I'm up to level 12 Conjurer, what class is good to level to give good subjob skills for Conjurer. I'm looking to go White Mage in long run.

gladiator has a skill that increases healing by 20%...too lazy to go look it up for more details. I also have surecast from THM and I can't remember what else I have right now. I know for sure I have 5 free slots for cross skills and I am not using them all yet. Need to get the other classes higher for better goodies.

I saw it posted on reddit that arcanist is the required level 15 job now for CNJ.

Sadly, aside from maybe.. virus? the Arcanist abilities represent very little use to us. Perhaps the level 34 ability eye for an eye... but that's a lot of subjobbing time to get 1 viable ability. Regrettably, the impact this has upon the jobs that our WHM job can draw I do not know. For instance, if we lost the ability to use THM abilities for... virus? that would be a terrible compromise.

But it only works on yourself so not useful for healing others.

Mantra may be what you're going for but it's just 5% as a sub.

It is still useful for solo play. I only have acn to 20, thm 11, gld 15 and I barely use any class skills right now. I have 2 and a half hotkey bars filled up with just my classes own skills. The only thing I really use right now is Virus from acn. It helps a little bit on bosses and fate bosses.

My whm is currently 44, I am waiting to get to 50 so I can see how big of an exp boost all my other classes get from having a maxed out class.

I leveled TM or Thunder. ATM I Cast it, then Aero, then Spam Stone until mob dies while soloing. 2 DoTs is nice :D

Did you know: You can cast Thunder>Aero>Sleep? Dot's do not wake up a mob, only damage applied after Sleep wakes it up. Smiley: schooled

Have fun.

I noticed this with the w/e the water move is called. I can DoT target up and then use the water spell to remove it from melee range, and it will be Bound for a bit while DoTs tick away.
Didn't know about sleep, this will be fun...

http://xivdb.com/?skill/150/Swiftcast -> THM (MUST HAVE for raise macro)
http://xivdb.com/?skill/144/Thunder -> THM (helpful when soloing)
http://xivdb.com/?skill/169/Virus -> ACH (situational if you need your group taking "less" damage)

These have been useful to me.

This and Marauder's foresight (20% defense) trait are good traits from non mage classes.

My opinion on WHM subclass abilities in order of importance:
1. Swiftcast: -Must have-
2. Thunder: Great addition to my DD rotation.
3. Surecast: I didn't use it much at first until I realized you can use this in place of swiftcast in a lot of situations. (Surecast Medica II right as TitanHM uses his 2hr ability then a swiftcast medica; people won't even notice theyve taken damage if you time it perfectly.)

I found that Swiftcast goes from "nice to have" to "must have" at Stone Vigil. Working on it right now to pair up with Raise in a macro.
