So I have had a question about rating people since I moved into my new apartment and have been putting off asking it for a while. Hypothetically if you and another poster live at the same address using the same global IP Address can you not rate each other?
I was just wondering cus there have been a couple posts of kirby's I tried to rate up (and a few i tried to rate down) but when I click the arrows nothing happens and the arrows are still there. I am however able to rate other users as per normal.

From what I was told when I asked this question in a PM ages ago, you cannot rate one another because there is no way to tell if one of you is using the other as a rate bot. However, at the time, we still would've been able to rate one another, we were just told not to do it or we'd be no-rated indefinitely. So maybe things have changed.

You shouldn't be rating people you share an IP with period, regardless of if you physically can or cannot. You would be suprised how often someone pulls up their entire "your posts" list and then uses the other account in the house to go rate all the posts they can still rate up to excellent. I'm not sure if there is a mechinism in place to block same IP rates, I know at one point there was a request for that however.

You don't want to be rating people you live with up or down for any reason. I see a huge batch of rates, I see a karma camper and that gets you norated.

Well I guess I will just have to stick with not rating Kirby till we are no longer room mates. Saves Kirby a couple of rate downs in XIV general I guess.
