Looks nice. Might be scrolling a bit slower atm though, a bit choppy ish on a long thread. Could be IE8 though. And before you scream at me for not using FireFox I do just not for Zam becuase I could never get the font to look right. Minor thing drove me batty though and thats another story!

I love the background, but the interface at the top will take a bit of getting used to. I have my muscle memory setup for scrolling down for the mage forums/gen discussion/my posts.

It's annoying and takes away room from the forum.

Aside from that the image is fine, but I want my full screen forums Smiley: mad

I feel the old menu's were nicer, but I knew this was coming based on the zam skin update a while ago.

I think it's ironic that more and more people get widescreen monitors and in return web-designers do the 'everything in the middle' layout, which leaves completely useless space on both sides for no apparent reason other than some phallic symbolism.

I've had issues in the past viewing forums on a widescreen monitor when I've changed font size or otherwise adjusted the "default" viewing settings. My guess is that forcing a particular width will provide a more consistent general layout regardless of a lot of tweaks a person might make.

Yeah, it's easier to manage, but it sure as hell looks dumb on a 24" widescreen.

You don't have to have your web browser window in fullscreen mode. I rarely do.

Well for those that do you no longer have the option.

So I can look at my desktop while browsing? What's the difference? What's the purpose?

I rarely only have one website tab open. I like to have my browser in fullscreen mode for those sites that are properly set out.

It's an awesome background setup but I also agree that it's funny having a widescreen monitor only to use the middle portion for the forum layout. Still, it's not really bad at all. Just different so far.

I bet the new look is *amazing* on the monitor I bought back in 2001. No, wait, that monitor goes to 2560x1536.

What exactly is the problem that you guys are having? I have a monitor in 1920 x 1200 resolution (I usually have to do Ctrl + several times to read the websites, since I'm nearsighted) and I'm not having any issues with Alla's new design.

I agree with this.

Alla now takes up 3/5s of my screen instead of all of it.

The new nav bar is less intuitive and more annoying.

I do not approve.

The new look is okay.
I'm not sure whether the resolution that my netbook is set at is making it look different but even though it's a wide screen, I'm not seeing the blank areas on either side like some have mentioned.

My internet explorer does not like it though. The loading is extremely slow and the scrolling remains choppy even after given time to let the page fully load. I get some odd text over background issues up near the top as well. It sometimes seem to hang and give me 'not responding' messages when refreshing or navigating too.

It looks better on Firefox although it still feels a bit slow to load.
