I don't see how this could be a cache issue on my side since it's just one page.

Post count for recent posts show as what it was when the post was made. It will update to the actual post count soon enough.
What TPO said. For example, my post count for this post is 6,750.

But eventually they will change to my total post count, which will be 6,752 as of this post and probably stay that way for a bit as I will not be posting any more for a few hours at least. Mostly because I'll be busy, but also for demonstrative purposes!
