right banner ad z-indexFollow

The z-index of the right banner ad causes the ad to cover the posting section if the page isn't wide enough.

What site? Page? Resolution? (we don't support smaller than 1024x)

It happens on the Post Reply/Edit screens in the FFXI sections. The right tower ad covers the formatting buttons (quote, code, spoiler)

You don't have to fully support smaller resolutions but the accessibility increase seems like it would fully outweigh the cost of making such a simple css change.

Fixed. Made the textarea a slightly smaller width to accommodate 1024x users on some skins.

Hey Jerek,

I ran across a post in the bug squashing thread in the ffxi general forum describing this bug and I linked them back to this post. As I read through it this thought struck me, as all my experience is with internal type applications I thought I would pose this question to you and everyone else.

I've noticed that as displays have gotten larger I no longer browse with a single window maximized and instead have two or three browsers opened in various sizes with several tabs in each window. I've also noticed others with large displays working this way as well.

Have you noticed any trends like this? I bring it up because you said you do not support < x1024 and it seemed that others may have picked up this browsing habit and am just interested in a general discussion on how you think browsing habits may change and the aspects that require attention as more people begin to use larger displays but smaller windows.

Have any other posters noticed this behavior in your own browsing habits or others?

It is very unlikely that we'll ever support lower than 1024x, as it would put strict limits on what we can do in that space. However 1024x support is basically assured for a long time (perhaps over 3-5 years, but no way to know at this point) because of its enduring popularity as a resolution. While not the most popular resolution, it's maintaining a solid chunk of our users.
