I support the creation of an anime forum.

I believe part of the reason other forums such as sci-fi/fantasy and general games forum(=22) do not get much traffic, is because they are somewhat inconvenient to get to. From an FFXI standpoint, I find it terribly difficult to get to forum=22 because the left menu doesn't have a link to it. This is easily remedied by typing in "22" instead of =10 or whichever forum I happen to be in. However, I only know to do this because I know forum=22 exists.
Many people probably don't know it exists, or simply don't wish to post there because it gets much less traffic.

It's terribly inconvenient to have to click all forums, and scroll through everything. If a link to the proposed anime forum could be placed into the side menu of every MMO stylesheet - I bet the forum would receive a ton of traffic.

As one who has devoted his journal to anime discussion for a long time now, I support the creation of a real forum that is more widely available to all members of Allakhazam. I also nominate Allegory or myself to be administrator of said forum, unless you'd need someone who could fulfill other site duties as well. However, that is a topic for a separate time.

I'm certainly not against it. If there is a desire for it. Heck why not. ^^

All of those animes suck... if you watch them in English. Watch them in Japanese and they are quite decent. Naruto Shippuuden is just as bloody and dark as any other anime.

If you compare the English versions of the above to the Japanese anime or manga, they are SO different (in that, in Japan, they were meant for children).

I voted yes. But it'll face the same problem as the SciFi and Game forum. Unless they put it in the side bar as Kayne said earlier. Just to strengthen his point, I find i go to the ffxi forum more so than any other because it's easy to find the OOT forum link in the side menu, although I dislike the color scheme.

I voted yes, and I agree with a link in the left tool bar. Its so much more intuitive to click on those than going through All Forums. I would never use another skin than FFXI because it has the OOT link in it and its where I spend the most time.

Yes. The OOT is pretty harsh about the anime threads :(

Uh, am I the only one that clicks the thingy at the top to access all forums? I didn't stumble onto the Asylum by accident, it was prominently staring at me in the face below the Alla feedback forum.

RE: Putting anime as a topic within the Sci-Fi forum

This seems like a good idea at first. However, sci-fi and fantasy fans tend to have different personalities from anime fans. I don't want to say they're uptight, but they're certainly a lot less fun-loving in my experience. I don't think they would appreciate an invasion of pocky-sugar-high weaboos discussing whether or not Ranma can get pregnant.

Additionally, Japanese animation is a sub-division of a medium, not a genre. A great many series contain sci-fi and fantasy elements, but many many other series are comedies, dramas, romances, or historical tales that don't deserve to be lumped together with sci-fi. Something like Bokura ga Ita, a series about teenage love triangles, would be very out of place in that forum.
