I don't think I'd even realized there was a magazine subscription till I had premium for over a year. Never received one issue, and wouldn't have it any other way. I get enough crap in my mailbox as it is.

I got a magazine once, when my neighbor was kind enough to bring it to me after it was delivered to her address. For now, the magazine is a non-factor in my decision to purchase premium, but if you could find a way for the magazine to always introduce me to my cute neighbors, well, it might become a significant factor.

One of the only reasons I continued my subscription was because of the magazine.

I hope this poll isn't some sort of trial baloon to see about doing away with it.

I voted to opt out as I never got mind and while I read Jonwin's magazine, he rather cut down on the clutter around the house. Sence he tends to leave newspaper sections all over the place, and I have to hunt down where he left something I may have wanted to read, I given up on ever seening this place without clutter.

I got a magazine in early 2004 and another in December '04 with a guide to leveling a WoW character quickly. If my magazine ever showed up after that it may have swayed me one way or another.

I voted no sway since I live in UK and don't have the option to not receive free stuff that I might want.

Voted - Didn't sway me at all. In fact, I'd completely forgotten about 'em. Which is kinda good, 'cause I'm not getting 'em.

Guess I chose option A, since they don't send the mag to canucks. Must be that strict border.

The magazine contributed to my decision to intially subscribe, a bit. But as to my decision to continue renewing, that was all about the site itself.

I bring up the subject of boobs and all you guys can talk about are magazine subs? Did I step on a quantum singularity and fall into an alternate universe where boobs don't trump all discussion of... everything?!?

I was seriously considering upgrading to premium until I saw the magazine thing. I do not want a magazine and I think it's absolutely insane that you are forcing me to pay for an unrelated service and then make me send a SASE to get my money back if I don't want said service. Give me the option to opt out of the magazine subscription (and therefore charge me less for premium) and I'll upgrade in a heartbeat.

You are NOT paying for the magazine, it's a PERK. Albeit a lousy one atm. Everyone who gets premium pays the same amount whether you get the magazine or not. (read: EU = no mag)

If that's the case then you may want to change the wording on your terms and conditions page. I read it as saying that I had to pay for the magazine as part of the deal and send something in if I wanted my money back.

That being said, I'm still going to hold out until there's a way to opt out of the magazine subscription. I REALLY don't want people sending more crap I don't want to my house.

I don't blame you, I agree there should be an opt out, thus the reason for the poll originally. However those types of things are beyond my control at this time. I am still on my soap box tho! I think it should be removed, please note that is my personal opinion and not the opinion of my employer. (just in case I needed to add that)

I voted No Sway.
It would have been a nice bonus if it ever got here but I honestly don't mind not getting it :)

I'm going to step away from the crowd and go my own way, as usual. :)

The magazine actually did have an influence on me. It was a magazine I had been wanting to subscribe to anyway. The annual subscription price was, I think, about $25 a year at the time. (It's now $20 a year.) Alla's Premium runs about $40 per year. So it was more than just a perk; it was a pretty huge benefit for me. It effectively reduced the Alla's subscription price to $15 a year.

I subscribe to Alla's Premium mostly for one thing: the advanced EQ item search. Yes, I know there are other benefits, but this was the one that trumped them all. That search was easily worth $15 a year. Now I have to evaluate whether it's worth $40 a year. With Magelo and other sites ramping up their EQ support, this is a risky time indeed for Alla's to reduce the value of a premium membership. (And yes, I know EQ is only a tiny fragment of the overall site. Still, it's the one I use most, so to me, it's the most critical one.)
