why dont you stop acting like ***** and stop censoring topics about FFXI in ffxi forums.

If you dont like a topic too damn bad, its not your topic to ***** with. If noone responded to a topic that they didnt like it would get buried fast.

So stupid when people complain about a topic in that topic and keep it bumped.

I know you guys are SE suck ups, we all know that, but they can do their own damage control, they dont need you to do it for them.

So calm down on the censorship, because thats abusing your power.

Let the people use the small brains to realize if noone responds to posts they go away.

Oh FFS, the original thread was locked because the OP got his answer and it was degenerating into a flame war.

Hehe, QFT. I loved his response to the locked thread that FFXI was NOT dying, when all I've seen him do lately is ***** about the population on his server . Hypocracy much, Xbobx ?

Remember when people were whining about wanting more active admin moderation and called the admins lazy?

Wherever there is a stance taken on an issue, there will be people there to be on the other side of it. Even if it's the most retarded, pointlessly flawed side.

I love the beautiful sweet irony. MMMmmmmm, so very suculant.

I do have one question for the Administrators, if im not allowed to ask this just tell me and ill edit it. Anyway, i have never understood how you like become a Administrator of a site like this, do you work for a company doing other things and then get asked would you like to become a Admin or is this just a mini job kind of thing?

Do you even know what a *moderator* is? It's their job to do exactly that; moderate the discussion.

Besides, locking a thread is not censorship.

#11REDACTED, Posted: Mar 22 2007 at 2:06 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I know what a moderator is, first, this is not their forum, its our forum, people seem to forget that. Every time we come to this site, they get a hit, the more hits the more money they can charge for advertising. So you fail to realize that the Admins work for the site, in which we keep afloat. You think admins are important people or something, they are not.

What are you, a communist? This forum *does not* belong to it's members. It was started by Allakhazam himself over eight years ago, and up until recently it was his site. Now it is owned by the same company that owns the entire ZAM network of sites. Don't start that crap about how it's owned by RMT, because it isn't, though the parent company does own the website that cannot be named.

Because this site is owned by a private entity, it is subject to the terms of service put forth by said company. You have to agree to a whole ToS before you are even allowed to open an account and post on these forums.

The moderators are hired by the parent company to enforce the ToS, and any other rules that are implied. A locked thread is locked for a good reason. Whether it be for irrelevant content, degenerating into a flame war, or breaking the ToS, all threads are equally lockable. It is not censorship. It is flushing the crap down the drain and making sure it doesn't come up again.

Censorship would be locking a thread because it *might* become something horrible, not because it *did* become something horrible. Get off your high horse.

It is a service that has been provided for you and your fellow trolls for free. So sit back, shut up, and keep posting so that we can rate you into perma sub-default.

Mods are there to keep things under control, make sure topics are in the right area.

their job is not to lock or delete subjects they dont like.

there is a big difference there.

If the difference really is so big, how the fuck did you confuse the two.

First of all, I did not lock the thread, IN did. Second, nice of you to totally ignore the second part of what I said.

lol genius. This is from his 'second topic' btw in which xbobx tries to state he had to ask his original 'Is FFXI dying?' question again.

Checked the site 2 months ago and it didn't look like that... It looked the same as when I STARTED playing

As for the dumb *** comment about "Clearly you have never played the game" before, then why the @#%^ did my code not work to re-open my account?? I asked a friend about it who played as well, and he stated the play-online ID expires after 3 months of inactivity so you have to buy a new one. If that is not the case, I still have all the junk from the last time I played and would love to play again.

Sorry for asking a question that was posted as being in a thread that WAS F-ING REMOVED.

Stop flaming my ***, I asked a simple question, thanks to those who answered the question politely and werent total @#%^s

Hmm, interesting way to phrase a question. o.O

Yes he did.

xbobx wrote:
then why didnt you delete the posts of the people flaming him, or is that too simple for you?

Because putting out the fire of a couple logs in a bonfire won't put the fire out, not to mention that the embers will still be there.

xbobx wrote:
mods are like security guards in a store, you see them there, they make sure you dont do something wrong, but hey keep their mouth shut.
I don't know about you, but I don't expect security guards to stand still when something is obviously being stolen. (That's another analogy btw.)

xbobx wrote:
Ask yourself this question.

what woudl happen if people stopped visiting this site.

then site would go down.

You're right, too bad that'll never happen. Specially with the 1M+ users.

xbobx wrote:
but fact is, this isnt the "mods" site, its like me going into mcdonalds and getting the fry guy to make business decision since he works there therefore it must be his mcdonalds.

No, it's like going into the mcdonalds headquaters and asking the third and fourth in command to explain something that is so obvious it shouldn't need to be explained.

xbobx wrote:
And yes, the mods are hired to enforce the TOS, i completely agree, but this group makes it well know what topics they like or dont like, and they lock targets due to this, then say it was all flaming, yet alot of the threads on alla are flaming yet dont get locked.
Maybe that's because stupid threads like this pop up whenever they try to lock the ones that should? Many flame threads didn't start out as one, and had their original point answered; they should be locked. Others contain an ongoing debate and shouldn't be locked.

xbobx wrote:
If it is not against ToS, then they dont have the right to lock or delete it. If individuals started to flame then you get rid of the posts of the individuals, not the whole post.
If a bonfire is still going on 2 days after the bonfire party is over, why the hell wouldn't you put it out completely? You also wouldn't only put half out so it can start right back up again.

xbobx wrote:
fact is the question is ffxi dying is important to new people. you pay for the game, its takes an investment in time, so why shouldnt they have a right to know the status of the game before they make an investment.
Because it's frieking obvious that it isn't dieing.

xbobx wrote:
There were alot of ffxi dying threads, then maybe the mods should have done their job sooner and just stickied one, but it took them weeks to do so.
First you want them to stop doing their jobs, then you want them to do it faster. Make up your god damn mind.

xbobx wrote:
Mods are just brats that want to feel imporatant, i have known mods of forums, they were just normal posters that applied to become a mod, maybe for an ego boost, who knows, or maybe they mommy never told them "I loveyou"

Or maybe they like to get paid for something they might enjoy, or heck, maybe they like to keep the forum they spend their time in relatively clean.

Xbobx, by reacting in a very combatative and provocative posting manner, you have succeeded in pretty much alienating anyone who may have been inclined to help. Generally, when a moderator nukes a post. that's their call. However if someone disagrees with that nukeing, posting here in a calm, rational manner with a well thought out argument stating your position would have been perfectly reasonable and appropriate. Had your reasons been sufficiently valid, the origional mod, or one of the rest of us may have reversed the lock.

You chose to not proceed in that manner. Calling moderators "*****" is not a good way to win friends and influence people. I've been to Dachau you little ****. I've seen what horrors the real ***** inflicted on people. Don't you dare try to equate us with them.

Unlock request denied.
