but the op didnt get his answer. first thing.
Yes he did.
xbobx wrote:
then why didnt you delete the posts of the people flaming him, or is that too simple for you?
Because putting out the fire of a couple logs in a bonfire won't put the fire out, not to mention that the embers will still be there.

mods are like security guards in a store, you see them there, they make sure you dont do something wrong, but hey keep their mouth shut.
I don't know about you, but I don't expect security guards to stand still when something is obviously being stolen. (That's another analogy btw.)

Ask yourself this question.
what woudl happen if people stopped visiting this site.
then site would go down.
You're right, too bad that'll never happen. Specially with the 1M+ users.

but fact is, this isnt the "mods" site, its like me going into mcdonalds and getting the fry guy to make business decision since he works there therefore it must be his mcdonalds.
No, it's like going into the mcdonalds headquaters and asking the third and fourth in command to explain something that is so obvious it shouldn't need to be explained.

And yes, the mods are hired to enforce the TOS, i completely agree, but this group makes it well know what topics they like or dont like, and they lock targets due to this, then say it was all flaming, yet alot of the threads on alla are flaming yet dont get locked.
Maybe that's because stupid threads like this pop up whenever they try to lock the ones that should? Many flame threads didn't start out as one, and had their original point answered; they should be locked. Others contain an ongoing debate and shouldn't be locked.
xbobx wrote:
If it is not against ToS, then they dont have the right to lock or delete it. If individuals started to flame then you get rid of the posts of the individuals, not the whole post.
If a bonfire is still going on 2 days after the bonfire party is over, why the hell wouldn't you put it out completely? You also wouldn't only put half out so it can start right back up again.

fact is the question is ffxi dying is important to new people. you pay for the game, its takes an investment in time, so why shouldnt they have a right to know the status of the game before they make an investment.
Because it's frieking obvious that it isn't dieing.
xbobx wrote:
There were alot of ffxi dying threads, then maybe the mods should have done their job sooner and just stickied one, but it took them weeks to do so.
First you want them to stop doing their jobs, then you want them to do it faster. Make up your god damn mind.

Mods are just brats that want to feel imporatant, i have known mods of forums, they were just normal posters that applied to become a mod, maybe for an ego boost, who knows, or maybe they mommy never told them "I loveyou"
Or maybe they like to get paid for something they might enjoy, or heck, maybe they like to keep the forum they spend their time in relatively clean.
