...but not if I'm forced to subscribe to some stupid magazine (free or not) that I will never look at and that I have to go well out of my way to unsubscribe from. Put a "no subscription" option on the sign up page, and perhaps I will consider giving this site some of my money. Otherwise this is just a cheap gimmick to get people to subscribe to something they don't want and will likely forget to cancel.

I'm about 98% sure you can sign up without subscribing to a magazine.
Just send one of the admins a pm they'll take care of it for you.

<shrug> I'm not the one who's losing money because of it. Somehow I don't think I'm the stupid one.

Not sure who you think is the stupid one, then. Since I enjoy the premium features and the magazine... Smiley: lol

I was going to sign up for premium too after my 2995 got corrected. Then I found out alla does accept american express! Smiley: cry

Actually.. question: If I sign up using an american express card will it work even though the number section specifies itself for a Visa / MC Number?

No because presumably Alla's CC bank/provider doesn't have a contract with Amex to accept charges from them.

Also, Amex uses a different number system from Visa and Mastercard, so it would know right away that you're trying to use an Amex.

Even if you get the magazine (I did), you will not be automatically renewed for subscription. If you're that Smiley: tinfoilhat about it, sign up through paypal.

Pretty sure that you could sue if you were automatically renewed for the magazine subscription.

Somehow, I don't feel like we are going to be the ones missing out on the loss of your premium subscription.

I am rarely ever surprised by what people will complain about on this site, but this one baffles me. "ZOMG! MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTION CONSPIRACY! HIDE THE EGGS! HIDE! THE! EGGS!" For Alla's sake, leave the admins alone and go back to arguing with the voices in your head.

I am kind of wondering if there is some sort of "sideways" psychology to this and if we filled out the little form and send it in, with proof of payment, maybe, just maybe, we could ask about the status of our subscription. I don't know who the gentleman/company is, but perhaps he could look into why I am not getting my subscription? Maybe expedite the arrival of my much anticipated geek magazine (I am really just in it for that new magazine smell! ~/inhales deeply then smiles with leisurely satisfaction~).

You do know that the magazine doesn't force you into a subscription you actually pay, right?

Like

You do know it's a FREE subscription? As in...there is nothing you pay, so "forgetting to cancel" will do absolutely nothing?

Cause if that was the case, I have about 3 years worth of a magazine subscription that I "never canceled."
