LOTRO Site Text (Browser Specific)Follow

#1 Feb 22 2007 at 12:37 PM Rating: Good
This is a minor issue, probably a CSS typo or format error. It's almost a replication of using a browsers Text Size view option to magnify the size of the font being used.

What's happening is (at least on my PC's) all the LOTRO Link/Menu text is correctly sized and matches the rest of the Allakhazam sites. However, the content text (posts, titles, news content, etc) is all magnified as if it were on Text Size: Larger (On Smallest, Smaller, Normal, Larger, Largest scale). It can be corrected by using the Text Size option on the Browser (Internet Explorer specific at this point). It's only happening in IE...I haven't had any Font Size issues testing this on Firefox.

Not a serious issue, but something maybe to look into? I don't know if anyone else has mentioned a similar issue...but I can't imagine it would be just me...since the other Allakhazam sections look fine to me using IE. Probably just a typo or format error...I've done it myself on my own sites.

I'm looking at it in:Windows-IE7, Linux-Firefox, Windows-Firefox, and in none of those does the font size look too big. What version of IE are you running?

Also if you could post a screenshot somewhere to show me what it looks like to you, and either host it somewhere or email it to me, at danalog at allakhazam.com

I'm using IE 6.0.2 (Work PC, not allowed to use Windows Update). I use Firefox too (shhhh, I'm not suppose to have it here), as well as having FF and IE7 at home...I don't have any problems there, however I spend most of my time on it at work since I'm playing when I'm home.

IE 6.0.2 Text

Firefox 2 Text

If it were IE5 or lower, I wouldn't even bother thinking about it. But IE7 still isn't a consistant and like I mentioned in my LOTRO Forum Post, I'd imagine a lot of "work" or "Daytime" forum-goers probably use an IE lower than 7.0. Sorry bout the size on Photobucket, they resize to 800px max width now (originals are 1280)...I'm sure you can get the jist of the difference in the SS's I posted though. Thanks for the reply Dana

Edit: (hehe...how appropriate, a LOTRO add in the LOTR section). It seems to affect the line spacing at the beginning of posts, too (notice the approx. one line spacing in the FF SS).

Ryneguy put me on the right track, that should be fixed on both the LotRO and EQ2 sites.. apparently IE6 needs its hand held on some of the sub-divs
