How come when I gave my friend a link to a thread, he was logged in as me? I figured that log-ins were stored as a cookie, and there's no way he could have logged in my account.

Your session id is stored as a cookie. Was your friends computer on the same network? You sure he's not just logged in as you?

100% positive. He lives in PA and uses a different host then me. He also has absolutely no idea what my password is, but was able to access my info like my sig, which you would need to be logged in for.

Should I be freaking out and changing my passwords, or is this a forum thing?

I'd change your pw.. there's no forum bug where the identity of a user viewing a post ever appears in the URL. not even the session key is there.
