Did you guys make any changes to the ratings system in the last couple days? Suddenly I am unable to rate people, and at the same time I lost on the order of .7 ratings points to drop from Guru to Sage. Seems kinda weird, and I was checking my post history and no one seemed to have nuked my karma recently. Thanks. It's more worrisome that as a Sage I can't rate people at all.

edit: to clarify: I closed down at work yesterday with a 4.59 rating, and log on this morning to find a 3.9 rating (3.91 as of this posting) so I'm just curious how that's really possible, as I said, that would take some ridiculous nukage of my posts, which was not evident.

edit2: I've read some other posts here, it's more the issue that I seem unable to rate posts anymore, I know Illia doesn't want to hear complaints about sage/guru ratings dropping.

I think it had something to do with the sockpuppets you had.

You mean like your teddybear? lol I don't know what you mean by sockpuppets unless there's some reference there that I'm missing.

No.. you see how on top of every post it says "IP: Logged"

When multiple accounts are posting/rating from the same IP address, which the admins are able to see, that's called a sockpuppet. Sockpuppets are disliked around here, because it's complete abuse of the karma system.

Your account was very likely flagged with NORATE status.

ah, so how do i get my account off unrate status, or can i get my money back? lol I personally don't rate myself, and only post from work so I don't know what kind of issues there could be if other people from work are posting.

Whatever you want to think Lauren I sure won't change that opinion, the fact remains that I do not know how my office resolves their IP addresses, and that there are other gamers in the office. All I want is to get my rating ability back, or to get the money back for my premium subscription, I don't want to support a site where I can't enjoy all the benefits of it :-/ I try to help people out on the forums as much as possible and in return I get my rate-ability taken away. You may want to say that ratings has nothing to do with the premium subscription but I got the premium subscription so that I could enjoy the rest of the site, soon upload an avatar to the forum, and support the people that made the forums that I enjoyed.

I don't feel that I am getting full use of the site if my rating ability is taken away even while I retain status that should allow me to do so, if my account is going to be "gimped" because I am accused of "sock-puppeting" my own posts, then I think I should get my money back since the account is no longer useful.

No-Rate happens. Get over it. I've got the same "status".

EDIT: It's not like the ratings mean anything anyway. Most of the regular posters turn off their filters.

You'll probably notice my experiment thread above. Don't mind it. My official view is that the ratings mean nothing, but I'd also like to take out the trash, so to speak.
