Ideas for changes to the game Follow

For a MMO this game has aged a lot, and since this is a MMO I think that SE shouldn't just focus all there attention on FFXIV and leave this one behind while they continue to increase the level cap making a bigger grind, so here are some ideas to make the game more easier to get into, and to make the game a newer fresher experience.

Make Subjobs Gain Experience

-Ever since the Beginning of FFXI Subjobs have been a Grind that detour us from our desire to play our main job.
-I think there should be a option like with merits to split up exp points from Main job and Subjob. it could be hafe of the exp points goes to the main job and the rest to the subjob, and if the subjob is capped then the exp points goes directly to main job.

Make a new client for FFXI

-The new client can provide new graphics, and maybe a easier playonline startup menu. By doing this players that want to play with the older client can still play with the people from the newer client and SE can make it a new experience since its different visuals. In addition this should bring much profit since this is pretty much a fullfledged game already and many current players would be eager to see how FFXI would look with good graphic, and people that were discourage because of the old graphics would also see it as possibility. of course the PS2 can't work with a much better client but that alright the PC,PS3,360 can so that opens up a lot of opportunity.

After the level cap increase

-Try to refresh older events by changing rewards, and restriction etc.

New Expansion

-if a new client is released a new expansion pack would certainly be welcomed and would be a great idea to add new things to the game.

Not going to happen. The whole premise behind having to level any subjob as the main is to give the player familiarity with how it works, understanding how to utilize that job's abilities/spells. Now, if it was 1XP per every 50~100XP for a subjob, that may be fair, but even subjob XP= 1/10 main XP would be too much.


Probably the hardest thing to get. SE would need to give FFXI more resources to do an overhaul. Don't expect this unless FFXIV really tanks and SE realizes it should devote more resources to FFXI so that the total number of players/accounts for FFXI + FFXIV doesn't fall below the number of accounts FFXI had say at some point in 2009.


With so much stuff at LV75 being designed without any kind of level cap lifting in mind, and so little stuff at LV76+ at present (Abyssea is a fraction of the stuff existing at LV75), letting much of the LV75 stuff obsolesce is a bad move.


THIS!!! This would finally give the game a sense of direction after 2 years of being fully adrift and something to look forward to. Abyssea, while nice, is "this thing on the side" with an unknown association to Vana'diel at this time. It just seems like a place created to host activities for LV76+ in the absence of some expansion. There needs to be an expansion in the Far ___ (South, West, East, North, take your pick) with new zones. This would give players a sense of confidence for the 1st time since 2008 that this game isn't going to be potentially abandoned a few months ahead from any given time, that the people at the helm have a direction & a destination to steer this ship (and that there are actually people at the helm).
