Empyrean Feet Armor Glitch. Follow

Hello Square Enix, there's an issue you really need to look into.

After thinking about it and discussing it with many people for awhile I have come to the realization that the Empyrean Feet Armor Acquisition is not working as intended and that it needs to be addressed as soon as possible.

Right now, you can buy the base level Empyrean Head Armor and Empyrean Leg Armor from NPC's with very little effort at all, however to obtain the Empyrean Feet Armor you have to kill monsters in certain abyssea zones for Gold Chests and the Empyrean Feet Armor is what appears and is agreed to be about a 2% drop out of these. Furthermore, which job comes from that 2% drop is completely random.

Now, I know the seals are suppose to be a bit tougher to obtain and that's fine, but getting the base Empyrean Feet Armor should be easier than this and it makes absolutely no sense how you acquire it compared to the other two pieces. When I think about it I know surely this can not be part of the planned design behind it and that it's suppose to be coming from a NPC some where but that perhaps it wasn't added and coded in properly.

There is just surely no way that the Empyrean Head and Empyrean Leg base armor would be so absolutely painless to obtain while the Empyrean Feet Armor are so absolutely incredibly difficult and frustrating to obtain in comparison.

From the way Trial of the Magians has been handled so far, to the fact of the Empyrean Head and Empyrean Leg pieces acquisition, to the fact that I can see Square Enix is trying to give people the first bits of armor easily so they can simply start working on the difficult trials to upgrade them, that the system for the Empyrean Feet Armor is not working as intended and needs addressing.

oh boy.

My LS hasn't even started going after the feet yet--not enough regular people got the new add on until Wednesday. We're also still trying to get some drops from the first 3 zones for people, and most of us are still working on the weapons trials in our non-event times.

We were going to give a new zone run tonight. On our Mon/Thur group, we already have 5 people claiming SMN feet, and 4 on BLM. I Really hope it's not a 2% drop rate...

People are saying it's an average of 2~5% drop. I spent about 6 hours in a party the other day that was made just for farming the feet. We capped amber light and we were getting great time extensions. Full alliance and In my 6 hours there we saw 2 pairs of feet armor drop. I'm sure there's people who have gotten luckier than that but most people are reporting it's around 2~5%.

I'd like some buyable feet. I never liked the concept of letting a dice tell me if I would be able to wear new armors.

Pure speculations gave me an 0.9% drop rate though, so 2% might be the real thing.

I did however see like 4 BRD feet, 1 BST and 1 DRG or something in one party. Somewhat enough for those unpopular jobs, but with that amount of drops on say WAR or SAM or BLM, you might be having a need for a few months of partying.

This isn't really a glitch, but I do think the rate needs to be improved.

6 hour party in Attohwa last night, not one piece of AF to be seen.

LS party tonight. 200k exp and 2 feet drops. Both War. We need about 60-70 of them total and they need to be the right 60-70. Even if this is all we did twice a week it would take years just to get the vanilla af3 feet without upgrades.

10 hours fighting pink birds--BST feet dropped about 8 hours in. No others. Got of light earrings, scythes, and the level 59 leggings (forget the name)...but only one pair of level 81 feet. Something seriously needs to be done about how we obtain the base armor pieces.

Yea, just had a party for about 8 hours myself. Not that bad on the feet front though. 3 RDM, 1 BLM, 2 WAR, 2 WHM or something to that kind. But it still isn't more than like 1 feet per hour, and assuming people have an average of 5 jobs leveled, you need 5 hours x 18 to get an alliance all their feet. Assuming equal spread on types and all shoes dropping that needs to drop.

But compared to legs and head, feet are like mythics.

This is all assuming people have as good of luck as you just did in that party (which you had really really good luck). Look at the rest of the posts on this page, ask around between people and you find out that the average groups get a lot less than you just did. So you can't go calculating how much time/effort people need to spend to get these drops based off of what is appearing to be one of the best farming parties for feet so far. You have to base it off averages, which so far are much much lower.

Appearance of feet in the gold pyxides appears to be based on status of the Martello cores from Bastion.

It would also be nice if something could be done about balancing the quests for seal. Some are as easy as poking a ??? but the BLM quests are a pure slap in the face. The quest for the head seal still hasn't been found yet even....

I'm not sure I'd consider myself "lucky" to always end up in abyssea zones without my feet when I join groups. But you could consider everyone else lotting them lucky.

Hmmm, now that's an interesting twist on it. This could actually explain why we aren't seeing many feet drop yet. I was in complete agreement with the OP until I read your post. If this is the way SE did it, I could see an adjustment not being necessary once people have settled down a bit and start really figuring out how to beat Bastion.

Managed to get one of those suck runs now.

4 hours
1 feet

From a zone supporting 9 jobs with their feet, it felt like a pretty crappy drop rate. 4 hours for 1/9th chance at your feet. Tell me when I can buy them for cruor.

The trick is to kill faster. The run i got my rdm+war feet in got ~15 feet in 4 hours, including at least one of every single one that could drop.

Until people figure out how to get TEs from Bastion, I'm not doing any breath holding on that one.
