This is a completely different thread from some other thread and not in any way conceptually overlapping at all, and also certainly not related to KAolian's implicit request for new threads. You have been granted the ability to force the next generation to like something nostalgic to you. Whether that's pet rocks, pogs, or pokemon trading cards is up to you. Suddenly something you used to like is now cool again. What legacy do you leave to the next generation.

I'd tell kids about Megatron. Not your beta pansy "I turn into a lazer pistol Megatron." No, I'd tell them about the "I'm a mother effing T-Rex Megatron." Now when people think Transformers, they think Beast Wars.

BURN FOR THE ROYALTY!

I'd bring back the fun loving, pizza scarfing Ninja Turtles, not the grimdark comic/movie versions.

I thought this had something to do with the whole annoying legacy title in SWTOR and then realized I was in the wrong forum.

I don't think I'm qualified for this.

My childhood was composed of the Magic Schoolbus and Bill Nye. A little too recent.

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. Kids these days watching these new power rangers just don't know how good it used to be.

Except if it were baby photos, it would be like looking at before and afters of Michael Jackson. Only instead of turning into a white guy, he changes into a chick!

This reminded me of this.

My daughter has watched all of the original GIJoe shows with me as well as G1 Transformers. I let her play with the ones that are not still in original packages.. for obvious reasons. One of her favorite movies that I had her watch is "The Neverending story", and she has been having me read chapters of the old OZ books before bed.

But he is a robot that turned into a jet, it is a subtle but very important difference.

My Little Po... oh wait Smiley: lol

I'd go with sea shanties, drinking songs, and folk songs from northern climates. Basically anything from Great Big Sea. Including the lexicon from their songs. I just want to be able to say things like "By Jingo!" or "I went a-roving last weekend" and not have my friends question my sanity.

Seriously? No one has said Thundercats yet?

Also Masters of the Universe.

All though released in the mid-'80s, they were on TV all the time in the late '80s/early '90s when I was a kid. :/

FTFY Smiley: grin

And I'd go with Star Wars (specifically the original trilogy). This summer, I ended up working with a lot of 14-16 year olds, training them at my summer job. A good 80% of them had never seen Star Wars.

Think about that for a moment. Think about it and despair.
