#1 Jul 04 2011 at 2:01 PM Rating: Good
According to the news. The 4th of July the most Hotdogs are eaten in one day than any other day.
I'll have to say I had three today. Along with Shiner Bock beer.

I haven't decided what to make for dinner yet. I'm kinda running low on supplies, but have no desire to go shopping.

I bet they both eat at McD's, so anything they say about food quality is null and void.

When you grow up around Chicago and Chicago dogs, everything else is complete crap. And since I'm not back home, hotdogs taste like crap.

Fair enough. I'll liken that to an NS donair versus a donair or gyro anywhere else.

If Chicago hot dogs were so great, they wouldn't need a salad on top to make them taste good.

I'd wager the kebabs in Berlin are better. Not even because they were invented there, but they really just are compared to anywhere else in Europe, the UK and Asia I've had them.
Well, the ones in the UK are just abysmal. I can't even eat that stuff.
The same tends to hold true for Shawarma and (fresh) falafel, in my experience.

On hot dogs: Take the sausages, put them in potato soup, have an awesome meal. That's all.

Berlin Kebab? ...It actully just Turkish O_o...Not Berlin at all lol.

Invented by Turkish diaspora in Berlin, in its current form.
I've eaten kebabs in Turkey, it's a completely different experience.

And God, I can hit up the Berlin falafel shops in a couple of weeks. Yay!
I've been recommended a good shawarma place in London, though, which I will hopefully be able to try out on Wednesday. It's been recommended by someone who actually knows what he is talking about so I'm looking forward to it!

Nope we had baby back ribs, corn on the cob, mashed creamed cauliflower, spicy potatoes and fresh bread...

I made burgers which I cooked with soy-vay teriaky sauce. That sauce is absolutely delicious.

That is because Kebab come in many shapes and sizes...and taste.

But yea probably changed a little to adapt to taste in Berlin...most food is adapted country to country

Let me clarify here. The deal with putting it in a sandwich? That's what they came up with in Berlin.
And it's largely the same across Western Europe. Except in most areas it's the same thing but tastes awful. British people who've had it in Berlin agree.

That being said, I prefer dürüm, and I'm not sure if that originated in Berlin, too. It's certainly very common and amazing there.

I had a corndog at a carnival today. It had sat way to long under the heat lamp.
Was so not worth the cash Smiley: frown

I'd wager they're not, since the only place you get anything like these is here. Everything else is a rather poor rendition, so I'm assuming what's done here isn't done elsewhere. That is to say, I think what's done here is a bastardised version from the original, which just happens to be far better.

See, now I really want to go up there to compare. You can't send one in the mail, can you?
I suspect they are probably quite different things which makes comparing pointless.

The thing is, I first need to travel to determine if the dokha in Dubai is really better, if the mangoes in Pakistan are and who makes the best biryani. Canada is kind of the other way. Smiley: wink2
