Trip down memory lane!

It was 2004 and I was a closet karma *****, waiting until the day when =10 would crown me Sage. I finally did it and then within hours, Alla dinged me up to admin. It was exhilarating and exasperating all in one. Smiley: lol

Honestly, every phase has had its good and bad points (except when Totem went way overboard poking the moogle. That was just bad).

Back in the old UBB days, when I was just lurking, I used to love reading the interplay between Delron, crazy Cuda, goth Lilibat, maybe-transsexual (or maybe just having one on) Lady J, and so many others. Tehom and Cal knew everything about Everquest, and were so kind about sharing with us noobs.

Then came the early flame days, the first epic skirmishes between Smash and Gbaji, and the actual need for an OOT forum so we EQ nerds didn't have to sift through those. Then the Asylum in due course, along with other game forums. Hosts of sock puppets, every other squeeb with a keyboard thinking he was top gun. The OOT developed its own brand of raucous silliness as the Asylum turned ponderous.

It's been fun. It's a special place.

I think it was from when Philly won some big sporting title. I don't remember which - World Series maybe.

Last years Phillies World Series Win.

Alla is a Philly sports fan like myself. We both pain greatly. Last Years Worlds Series win was long long overdue for the City of Brotherly Love.

Wish I wasn't living out here in NY Territory. Its damn near impossible to see any Philly games on TV Smiley: frown

I started lurking in the Asylum when Flea and Skeeter were warring and Drac was um, reporting on the affair. It was quite dramatic. I pondered on what the outcome would be and I was right.

I had to make a name for myself in the Asylum so I made poster of the week threads. It ended soon as I ran out of candidates, and apparently it never really got my into the fold either.

The first time I got a Smash flaming I was happy as a clam. Though some 3-4 years later I think he still fails to recognize my posting name.

Here's a little known fact. My son and my husband have both posted in the Asylum and the EQ forum from time to time.

....and some Alla trivia: The Poster currently known as MissMandie used to post by what leisurely name?

I never really got the chance to know you like most loyal fan and posters of the allakhazam community. I would just like to say though that just from observing the many thanks and the reasons behind them that you have brought happiness, memories, knowledge, friendship, and love to a global community. This is something that many could never fathom come true but here it is plain as day.

Because of you many people have met their significant others, how awesome is that!? Because of you some use this sight to stay alive and to experience the outside world when they thought they could never go there again. People can come for support no matter how strange they are and it doesn't matter if we don't know them intimately enough because we all come from different walks of life and have something to share that could shed some light on whatever darkness we have going for us in out life.

So, I thank you for giving these people and myself the opportunity to experience what could potential be one of the greatest gatherings for the human population and people can openly express their love for bacon (had to through that in there, can't have it being to heavy now can we ;) )

Since your avatar was broken, I had a laugh for a few seconds there, as I thought your premium ran out right after you posted.

I remember when I used to get in trouble (Which hasn't been a very long time (By the way, I sent an email)) and I knew I was might be banned whenever I saw Allakhazam and Illia up on the recent visitors list. In fact, when Hellboy got banned I remember checking recent visitors and seeing Alla and Illia then Kupoback sent me a AIM saying 'DUDE YOU GOT BANNED!'

That was annoyingly funny. And I believe that's what gave us Sabo, who is a much cleaner and better lay than Nix.

As much as anything, Allakhazam symbolizes this decade for me, in the same way Michael Jackson did the eighties or rampant drug abuse defined the nineties. Been using this site since sometime in 2001 or 2002, posting for the past five years, and for as long as I can remember it's been the first place I visit when I start up the computer. I've seen some of you naked, heard you ********** on Skype, showed you my ***** after drinking too much; we have shared a great deal. I've met the girl I'm going to spend my life with here. Thanks for it all, Alla. I really can't say that enough.

The place has changed a lot since it became more corporate, but it always felt homey if not rustic. Mostly because half the **** around here doesn't work. And that's ok. This place was only about the games for maybe the first year I used the site, and ever since it's been about the people and the connections we've made. Again, can't thank you enough for allowing us to congregate here.

Best of luck in your future endeavors, and take Wordaen with you, please.
