I think it was more of a funny observation and less of a gripe. Perhaps you need to chill?

You know Mindel, I don't think I've ever seen you write more than one paragraph in a single post? Are you too stupid to string together more than a few sentences or are just too lazy to raise you lard filled limb?

We all come to the OOT to have a good time, but spam is not funny. It's crap and no one cares. Even with all your circle jerks you're still at scholar because you post nothing but crap. You are a waste of space.

And maybe you need to watch your language. This isn't the freaking asylum. No, I won't "***** out," because we keep having this problem. No one is going to learn a lesson if we don't come down hard. Do you want me to come down hard on you Nix?

See, now this is where you have to take it 50/50. I can't really tell if he's serious or not.

See that's what I thought.

That and I think he meant come down hard on you Nix as a double entendre.

About 70~100 people I'd say. No clue how many people actually dropped the class after the second midterm though.
It's not the prof's fault he's stuck teaching a bunch of mouthbreathers.

If they were mouthbreathers they wouldn't have passed ESE123. It is the prof's fault that he couldn't teach, and has a grading system that results in well over half the class getting a horrible grade because he included midterm and homework questions that built on stuff a lot of the students didn't even learn yet. This was a programming class, that taught us programming, and then tested us on newton-rhaspen methods, fixed point iterations, brute forcing differential equations, etc; all before we even learned sequences and series in calc 2, let alone differential equations. All of us were able to program quite well, but apparently that doesn't matter.

Deadgye.
STFU and go see the head of the department.

If that doesn't work, STFU again and go gather the entire class, and then go see the head of the department.

Also: Feel lucky that you passed. It's not always about grades as much as it is completing the work assigned to you in the manner in which you were instructed to do it.

The class doesn't include calc2 in it's co, or even pre-requisites. We were prepared for what the class is supposed to be, not what this bullsh*t teacher turned it into.

Except for the questions that built upon knowledge not yet learned in calc 2, I got most of the questions on the exams right.

So gather information to prove your point, AKA your calc1 books, and the tests in question that have problems that aren't covered in your calc1 book, then go over his head.

That's why they have withdrawal periods. Course catalogs can be misleading. Good students understand that.

Take it as a lesson that sometimes unexpected things come up, and use those as opportunities to learn more. Unless you just like coasting through things.

This isn't something that can be considered "oh we just misread it". This is a major freshman pre-req. Everybody who failed this cannot take ESE271 and ESE218. If you don't take ESE218 you can't take ESE380, if you don't take ESE271 you can't take ESE211, 305, 372. If you don't take ESE211 and 372 then you can't take ESE314. Basically, everyone who just failed got pushed back a semester. This wasn't an optional class, we had to take this class.

PHY132 (Classical Physics 2) and CHE131 was unexpecting things coming up, and I did "use those as opportunities to learn more". This was not that.
