I found a picture of someone's desktop online, and they had a few utilities on it, basically a bunch of stuff in the Task Manager.

Does anyone know what program it is?

I have a little toy dragon with two heads on my desktop. The little kids LOVE it. This six year old cracked a huge smile when he saw it yesterday.

IT BRINGS A LITTLE SUNSHINE TO MY DAY.

Smiley: mad

Oh, computer desktop.

So your sunshine comes from the slowly expanding fury of a Red Giant?

Apparently it's an app for Windows 7. Not sure if it's available on other OSs.

When I was a kid, after I read a Wrinkle in Time and thought about alternate worlds being neat, I would read about neutron stars in our set of Encyclopedia Britannicas. Boy, with all that gravity, it'd be a crazy place to be. The whole dying from heat thing wasn't part of the thought. I thought it'd be a blue dense place full of short, squat things.

It was a set from the early 60s, so I'd learn about how some day we hoped to go to the Moon and such things.

Also, I never learned what the neutron dance was.

Is it wrong that I interpreted this entire post as a euphemism? I mean c'mon. "toy dragon with two heads"? From Anna? I think you all see where I'm going with this...

What's happiness weighed against truth? We need to know what you meant, Anna. We need to know.

There is a program called Yahoo widgets that I run that is similar to that.

Lot of user created applications, I use it on my XP loaded desktop.

On my Vista laptop its an application called windows sidebar, that is very similar and a touch better looking.

I've used Samurize before, although nothing in that picture you posted looks like it. That just looks like the windows sidebar. I have the same CPU Usage and Network monitor up on mine.

I don't like this thread, mostly because I don't like the word "widget." On a related note, I also do not like "dongle."

It's a standard Vista sidebar - I've had both of those monitoring gadgets for about an year now.

You mean this?

Screenshot

It's called the sidebar. It's built in to Vista, and there are many utilities that emulate it for XP.

Ya, I got Samurize, and started configuring it. I've got some basics displayed on my desktop. It seems fun to play with.
