my husbands answer, that I am NOT happy with because I think it's sh*tty is that unless he actually hit your car or did something, there is no crime.

I think thats bullsh*t. what are you supposed to do, wait till be attacks you? >.<

he used the word "furtherance of intent". I imagine if this happened to suki & I his reaction might be different. meh law enforcement.

It's a crime in Cali. Other states will prosecute it as assault. Dunno what the law is in TN, though.

Yeah, I don't think that's entirely correct.

I would imagine, though, that many states would treat it as a minor infraction at most - reckless driving or some such - unless the other driver actually hit your car or otherwise forced you off the road.

thats my beef. it's insane that for the police to do anything, you have to let the psycho harm your car or you?!? That makes no sense. Am I wrong in thinking that the police should be preventing crime?

It was scheduled before I got the bad medical news and before my wonderful commute this morning. Just excellent timing.

If it makes you feel better I was driving a few minutes ago and pulled out into traffic and the person behind me honked because they were going too fast.

Close. The highway patrol.

I traveled a lot last year I was on interstates and highways mostly. I saw drunk people, angry people and people who were way too old to be on the road. Dialed *HP and told them my mile marker and most of them were pulled over. I like living so I want the least amount of idiots on the road.

I pulled out while not one, but two cars were turning in. Like I said the person was going way too fast.

Assuming others will drive responsibly is irresponsible.

After a couple of nasty incidents (well, I say incidents but I do mean deaths), police here are rather strict on road rage. They'ld have noted a complaint based on that number plate and your statement, but without witnesses it's all basically very hard to actually prove. And ofcourse, if there's a confrontation between the two, that other person can get access to your information. Not always a good thing if they're the vengeful type.

I've been guilty of aggressive driving myself, but never like you describe, I tend to get too close to other vehicles instead of waiting for miles for them to move out of the way where they shouldn't be driving in the first place.

Frustration on the road is easy to get, it can linger for hours afterwards too.

If I didn't have my music to keep me sane while driving, there would be a lot more dead people who couldn't drive.

Like that one @#%^tard to was going 60 in the left lane of the LIE next to two trucks in the middle lane, next to a truck in the right lane that were all going the same speed. He'd speed up just enough to think you're going to be able to pull out and pass him.. and then slow down.

I had the same thing happen on a cross country trip, in a light rain.

I backed off, & they next driver MY aggresive idiot whipped around was going a little too fast.

The last mental image I have of the douche is him sliding *** first into fast oncoming traffic in the other lanes.

He had a very shocked expression on his face, several miles later a procession of Highway patrol & ambulances passed us.

The next day I bought a newspaper & apparently he killed himself & 3 others.
