For once, you've got something right...Tried Newcastle Brown Ale tonight and god damn that stuff is good. Probably my favorite beer that I've tried.

Yes, this needed to be a thread.

Oh, come on. There's a thread titled "Beer Thread" not even halfway down the page. And yes, Newcastle is pretty good. Samuel Smith Brewery also makes some good beers.

Good beer always needs it's own thread.

Newkie Broon is indeed bloody awesome. Interestingly, a biography I've read suggests that it was part of what kept Black Sabbath going during the early days (that, and enough coke to buy themselves a small South American country)

Newcastle Brown is pretty generic as far as English ales go.

Yeah, technically it's barely an "ale".

Still, I love Nookie Brown too. I studied in Durham (a tiny town fifteen minutes away from Newcastle) for a year and drank gallons of the stuff. There was quite a big scandal when the distillery was moved, 6 miles away from its original site. They take it quite seriously up there. Ye knaa what ah mean leik, pet?

Newcastle was the only place I ever heard a mum say to her 5 year old daughter "Don't doo that, ya daft cunt." It was said kinda nicely, but still.

Can I ask you to send me some in the post if I can't find any in London?

You'll find it. It's mostly bottled, I'd say you'd have a hard time finding it on tap in london.

Didn't mean on tap. I just seem to have a hard time finding good alcoholic drinks that aren't variants of whisky or vodka.

You could still send me a beer in the post anyway, though.

I will bring Czech stuff to the London thingy if both happen, and in the right order.
