Anyone remember this game?

I sure as hell didn't, until I got an e-mail telling me the game is back online. At first I was like 'What the hell is Ryzom? Sounds like a drug' and then I googled it, and now it feels like my head is about to pop from all the memories being brought forth. Man, that game was defining in its own way. Sure, it was boring killing bugs all the time, but the atmosphere was creepy and moist. Everyone looked the same (gotta love early MMOs), but you could customize your spells and abilities!

Damn, it's amazing how much information you can hide in your brain, storing it for four years only to have it all come back by seeing a screenshot.

Can't believe I forgot about that game. It's where I came up with my username. Smiley: grin

Until people stole it and made up poor excuses like 'It actually means something in my native tongue' and other crap like that.

I bet they had to word it like that to avoid all the complaints from newbies about getting raped by a high level player 15 seconds into the game.

The only thing I liked about that game was the skills/crafting/harvesting. Being able to create your own skills was very nice.

I played it in closed beta for a while. Then a year or two passed and I played a trial account, which was very limited as far as what you could do.

Oh, it's a pay-to-play?

Then I won't bother getting it. I've promised myself to not get invested in any more fee-based games until I decide to quit the one I am paying for now.

I remember that game. I played the beta for a bit too. I didn't know it went offline, though.

Yeah, I know. The funny thing is, I'd never heard of that town (why would I?) when I came up with my username.

Also... Would you believe it? When I started playing, I was the only one named Mazra on all the servers. Now there are a bunch of me on both the NA and EU servers.

I got that same email. I don't really remember much about it though, played it for a few weeks.
