The military has a case of "The Dumb"Follow

yes, I know they aren't typically known for being intelligent... ANYWAY! Apparently the ex husband, long after our divorce, was collecting extra pay and living in married housing. The military (Master Sgt Ive been talking with) acknowledges this yet the housing contractor that manages their housing still wants to hold me responsible for the time he wasn't supposed to be in housing after the divorce (of which the military took back their pay)

I've sent copies of bills, my old rental contract etc and still they respond with 'We see he was collecting money he isn't supposed to but we are still trying to prove that you weren't living with him on June 2008 - September 2008".

Another semitemper-inducing-funny, my old apartment included all utilities, I had to go line by line explaining to CAREER MARINES (a Lt Col & a MSgt) why I didn't have a utility bill. (See where there is an "O" next to water, that means included. If it was an "X", It wouldn't be included)

I asked the Master Sgt "Why don't you just go after my ex husband" and he said "I don't know?".

The housing contractor, Lincoln Management is constantly changing their story: "Prove you didn't live her on June 07 (done), Prove you didn't live here June 08 (done).

ANd today they collections company representing Lincoln called me to say that if I didnt pay they would send me to jail. (no worries, I already have a case opened with the Attorney General. You should see the things they'd been dumb enough to put into writing... Bill collectors pretending to be Lawyers = HUGE FCRA NoNo) - we are changing our home number. We never gave them our number and since it was unlisted, my guess is the military handed over the number.

Holy hell. SO hey, Soggy & the rest of you military folks, if you ever want to get out of paying for your military debts, list your exwife as a resident. Housing doesn't care if she never signed the lease, they'll go after her anyway.

well it took less documents to get it off my credit so now it's just principal, really. I'm under the impression that this isn't the first time something like this has happened. Military housing is very catty, I can't imagine people being ok with a single man (and his buddies) living in married housing. (his alcoholism skyrocketed after I left him so I can't imagine the home was clean nor quiet)

No. According to them he is out. He had quite a few NJP's due to alcohol so I don't think he would've been able to reenlist.

I hate to see that your being dragged through the mud. The millitary moves very slow and people can and do take advantege of it. My sister married some clown in the army and got cleaned out by him and his mother. Dispite all the warnings and my mother and father trying to annul the marrage. Sis lost all her wages, savings, and had to fight in court over it all. Kind of sad that it happens and still does.

Being a paperwork packrat saved my butt this time (at least with the credit agencies) and forcing them to do everything in writing helped open the case with the Attorney General (collectors cannot pretend to be lawyers, they cannot try to give legal advice and they cannot threaten to send you to jail. They were stupid enough to put it in writing...)

I feel bad for your sister, I hope she's been able to recover her credit. :/

Took her years to get it back. It also took her over 6 months to get her pay seperated from that buttwhipe. Her savings and retirement? Not sure that she got anything but promices.

Next they will say that you are hiding weapons of mass destruction, invade your home, and occupy it in the name of liberty while intercepting all your paychecks and reapproprating them for their own usage.

I hear Ikkian's offering blowjobs at this time. Perhaps you can handle the overflow to help with room and board.

Yeah I'm finally seeing the idiocracies of the Navy now that I'm on a ship. My system is all broken and I'm not amused by my chief voluntelling us to do extra duties to make him look better so he can make Senior Chief.

Smiley: mad

I wish I had gotten orders to Japan.

Meh, you had a 50/50 shot at ending up with a chief like that anyways. Half want to be high speed, low drag and get their extra rank/money/authority. It ensures a place in the military over the long term. The other half of them are the cool ones who mostly talk about ********** no, I ain't reenlisting. I'm done." That's the chief that will get **** done but won't try and sign you up for extra ****. He also tells you to vanish when nothing else needs done so you aren't sitting around staring at the walls waiting to go home.

Try being a dependant in the military (child/spouse of primary military parent). Some of the **** they got going on for us is insane, and the military is addicted to insanely complicated methods of doing something that could be done with a pencil and paper. Not to mention that, in order to save money, they turn off the heat in march and dont turn the AC on till the end of may, long after the need for it has arisen. Honestly, i think a chimpanzee with a piece of string could get things faster than the military any day of the week, simply because the chimp doesn't have 10 million sets of paperwork to deal with on a daily basis (these people have paperwork for everything, literally. You can't even buy vital supplies for your job without filling out paperwork).

The only good thing about the military, that i, as a lifelong dependent, can see, is AFN, the military's TV network. No crap shows at all, and no commercials to boot. (i'm dreading the commercials when i go back to the states. After a week i felt like i was loosing my mind.)

Could you change that to:

Sermalnity, 80 Human Warrior = alliance Main
Margamanthak, 76 Orc Death Knight
Margumanthak, 80 Orc Hunter = Horde Main
Serpalady, 17 Human Paladin
Margalock, 12 Belf Warlock

Serhuntity, 24 Nelf Hunter
Sermbank, Allie banker alt, level 1

Yeah, the military is excellent at making paperwork, sometimes not so good at keeping it though. I mean, if YOU want the 10 year old paperwork, yer screwed, but if they need it to hound you with, golly, there it is!!

The proper response here would be to question how I could see it at all.

Where are you stationed that AFN is worth watching? Seeing the same recycled propaganda from people you work with on tv is nothing to brag about. AFN is what make people appreciate regular commercials. The super bowl without commercials is full of fail..

Well, all of it does sound crazy, because many of it is, but when compared to the civilian world, people always wish they were back in the times when 10 different people has to sign one piece of paper just so you can go out of town for the weekend.

That's only because they're lazy and want the good old days back when they could move at a snails pace.

When i say AFN is good, i don't mean their informational blurbs (which are a lot better than the relentless brainwashing you call commercials that try to force us to buy a lot of unneccessary products and go further into debt than we already are), i mean that we get all the best TV shows you enjoy without the pathetic crap-fests that are inflicted on you.
