I enjoyed the new Star Trek film so much that I will go out on a limb and say that it was the best Star Trek film since The Wrath of Khan. I feel like every character beforehand sat down and decided how there characters would react and act as if the events in their early careers where going to happen that way.
First and foremost props to Sylar, Harold, and Shaun. All of them where IMHO risky at best, and they all came through as great characters. I loved seeing Chris Pine try to act as William Shatner's Kirk, and then take his own during the times of crisis.
The movie perfectly transitioned from 'THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN IN THE ORIGINAL STAR TREK' to 'OMG TIME WIZARD MADE IT THAT WAY!' without missing a beat on J.J. Abrahms decided direction on the movie. Minor things where changed like the graphics on the teleporters to Vulcans ears, but it didn't hamper the fun of the movie at all.
I'd easily give this movie a pointless 9/10, and recommend you see it opening weekend which I predict will be well over 100,000,000 box office.
