Excellent names. Where would Zelda lay in the list?

I know one Hattie. She's about 80.

Edited to add: corollary to the middle name sidebar. Some of them are family names, and some are Christian names. I knew a chick in high school whose middle and Christian names were Gladys and Agnes, respectively.

There's no need to go THAT far, IMO.

There aren't enough Helens anymore either. One of my favorite people in the world is named Helen, and she's in her 70s I believe.

Do I look like the ******* census bureau?

I like my name, though. My sister definitely got the short end of the stick. I blame my parents for her death. I think she offed herself rather than go through life with that name.

Thirty Helens agree; old names eventually come back in style.

My grandmothers were named Florence and Gussie.

I like the name Maxine. I've known two. One, again, was elderly; the other went by Max.

Giving girls "boy names" is a tradition in my family. I'm Sam, my sister was Max. My grandmother was Gus(sie), and her sister was Syd(ney).

I've always liked the name Amanda. I'm actually very fond of Emily, as well. If I ever had a daughter, though, I would name her Molly.

And there's like a thousand ways to shorten it. Eliza, Liz, Lizzie, Liza, Beth...I'm sure there are more.

I know a couple of Jessicas and one Jessie.

I know a Madeleine, a Madelyne, and a Madeline.

(May I just say, alternative "unique" names now make me think, "was the name you wanted already taken?" Damn MMOs.)
