We haven't had one for quite a while, and I'm hoping for some new beers to try.

I prefer Ales and my latest favorite beer is innis and gunn, which is a very nice rich beer. I'm also a fan of half-pints, but it's a pretty small local brewery, so I really would be surprised if people had heard of it. I'd prefer something that I can actually buy up here in canada, but the thread isn't just for me, so list your favorites.

I'm also looking for some new beer recipes. I posted a thread about the great beer can chicken I made ages ago, but I'm looking for new ideas of ways to use beer in food. I'm going to put some beer in the burgers I'm making tonight.

If you're determined enough, you can get just about anything in Canada. Just gotta deal with a lot of red tape to get it ordered in.

I don't know about mailing, but as long as you're willing to buy enough, you should be able to special order just about anything in.

I generally prefer lolgirlbeers ciders, and when I drink beer I tend to go for lighter stuff. Carolina Blonde is nice, though I'd be surprised if you could get it easily in Canada. :/

I did try Young's Double Chocolate Stout once. It was ok for a beer that dark. I kind of wish I'd tried the ice cream float the place made with it, but maybe next time.

If you have a really dark beer (like guinness) drop a shot of espresso into it. Fantastic.

I'm working my way through a range of abbey beers at the moment. I really enjoyed chimay rouge , its a good full flavoured beer, with fruitiness and a hint of caramel to it .

I've been going through IPAs lately and probably my favorite so far is Flying Dog's Snake Dog IPA.

Holy cow I'm going to try that as soon as possible, we roast our own coffee beans as a plus... mmm

Xsarus, what is your knowledge on gluten free beers? (Available in the US preferably bleh)

Redbridge by anheuser-busch is all I can really get around here. Its better than nothing (actually maybe its not better than nothing).

Aw. Can you not do that now?

On the topic of things to drink, I've been liking vanilla vodka and Coke lately. Wanting to try it made me break the "no soda" thing I had going for a while, but oh well.

And yes, the UK seems to have such delicious ciders. Maybe I haven't been looking hard enough, but around here you can generally only get a couple of brands, and only a couple of their varieties. Though there is a beer/wine/liquor discount store that has branches both in my hometown and where I am for school; I should look harder the next time I manage to get to one.

I was thinking of grabbing one of the Guinness's we have and wash away some of the pain.

A friend been talking about Dogfish Ale in twitter a lot lately and Jonwin had some when we went out for dinner last time. I could find myself drinking it, when I can find it on tap.

IPA's are my favorite overall beer type. I'm a huge hop head, so more hops = better. Of course, still needs to be balanced.

Hale's Mongoose IPA, Dogfish Head 90min IPA, Rogue Hoppy Froggy IPA, and if you really want to load up on hops, Stone Ruination IPA are some of my favorites. Tried some Steamworks Brewery Third Eye Pale Ale, which is also an IPA. It was ok, but wasn't too impressed with the overall flavour.

For something a bit smoother, I like Porters. Hard to mess up. Mac's Porter, Deschutes Black Butte Porter are my top 2.

For stouts, I'm more of an imperial stout fan. Get enough of the lighter dark beer with the porter. Stone Imperial Russian Stout and Rogue XS Imperial Stout. Of course in Canada, not sure what you can get.

I like Red Ale alot. I also believe in drinking local and enjoy Riptide Red Ale, the best. I love that ******* beer.

I had a Brooklyn Lager yesterday though and thought that wasn't bad.

I look forward to nice light beers (not LITE but wheat beers) for the summer. Paulaner makes a nice one.

I'm amazingly lazy and uncaring about beer. I'll happily drink Rolling Rock, if given the option, I'd prefer Stella, I'm not adverse to Corona nor a particular fan of any more exotic barely and hopp based beverages. Wine on the other hand, I'm a bit of a snob about.
