So where else do you play?Follow

This is for Ari, Poldaran, Usagi, and a handful of others that are keeping me here. Do you have facebook pages? PM me if you don't know my full name. I'm tired of being here. I hardly play MMO's any more, so what's the point of this site other than to keep me in touch with a few of my friends?

This is a melancholy thread. It hurts to stay here, and watch people I once worked with handle things in the worst possible way. It's hard to lose so much respect for the people who work here, and it's starting to turn into disrespect. It's time for me to move on. If you care enough about me to want to keep in touch, there's always my blog.

I'll probably stick around for a few days, to gather info from people, but I'm going to try and fade away. This place is going to be a hard addiction to kick. But I'm going to try. This site doesn't deserve me, the last few days have proven that to me.

I think I have a myspace page I haven't touched in at least 6 months. I can get you my email addy, though I really don't check that all that often either(once a month or so most of the time).

Honestly, with the good work comp down(it takes a good two minutes to load a page here on the bad one) and my time at home taken up by a combination of Justice League episodes off the net, tons of WoW time and occasional forays into the real world to visit family and friends, I don't get on here or most other sites I used to heavily frequent as much as I used to.

That said, I can certainly get you my email addy and see if we can find a way to keep in contact elsewhere.

I use facebook, but never Myspace anymore. I only keep a myspace in case someone is looking for me. I don't really update a blog anymore.

I know where you're coming from, but as someone who has been here for the better part of a decade, I assure you that people coming and going, changing personalities, freaking and mellowing is all part of the natural progression of a forum.

Myspace

On Facebook my name is "Joshua Mills" though I hardly use it for anything but playing games on it with my girlfriend.

It's going to be less awesome here if and when you leave though Smiley: frown

It's not so much about the current climate here, and more about the fact that I don't want to frequent a site where I don't have any respect for the people who run it.

You'll get over it, you did last time and ended up an admin. BT will get over it, he's been disciplined before (over the years) and Mindel I hope will get over it.

It's drama, it livens up the forum and then we'll get boring again.

I hold grudges like nobody's business. I still hold a grudge against my grandfather, and my brother in law, and they're both dead.

I post on a couple other forums as well and none are exempt from some kind of drama, even those that are for adults only. People have good days and bad days and personalities clash: those of the users and those of the admins. While I can understand being unhappy with the administration of any site, I realize that I'd only be punishing myself by leaving a community that I enjoy in some attempt to spite a staff that will quickly forget that I wasn't there anymore. They'd still have their work to do and plenty of other members to attend to.

Of course, that's just my perspective and your mileage may vary.

I don't interact enough with people here on a personal level for me to be handing out information beyond skype (galkaman), but I will say that NixNot is easily one of the best posters here and that it's a loss for the forum and site as a whole if he leaves.

Hey Nixy!

I'm feeling the same. The FFXI section is fairly slim these days, and the wiki kills this place in terms of information. I've mainly hung onto Alla for posting in =10 and here. I'll be emailing Lori later today in regard to it all.

As for Facebook, et all:

The Facebook
The Twitter
The Blog
The YouTube
The Viddler

I doubt I am one keeping you here, since I'm not here at your time these days, but we had some laughs in the day. Feel free to add/follow/rape any of those when you miss me, if you miss me.

I don't play MMOs anymore either, and have in fact sworn off the genre, but I still come here. The reason is because forum topics don't matter. This could be an automotive forum for all I acre, but as long as OOT talked about the same crap I would still come.

If the posts here now bore you or you believe it is a bad habit, then those are sensible reasons for leaving, but to pretend the forum no longer deserves you is silly. It's your choice ultimately, I just hope to provide a different perspective.
