Barley likes to eat too fast sometimes and pukes, does your kitty eat fast? Also, keep the bowl at a higher elevation so the cat is not stretching too far down to eat.
One of my dogs eats too fast, so we put a ball in her bowl that she has to eat around. It makes her eat more slowly, and we haven't had a problem since starting to do that.

Only two times I ever notice my cat puke. IF I forget to feed him for awhile he will eat too fast and spit it right back up. Most of the time this happens right int he food bowl so at least it is easier to clear.

The other time is when I am away from home for a extended period of time such as working 8 hour shift. I will sometimes come home and find a pile in my bedroom. I Guess he makes himself sick over being alone.

He has a very sensitive stomach though. I can't feed him cheap cat food the only thing I can get him to hold down is the $25 per 8 lb bag Science Diet.

It could be the June-bug making your cat puke. Mine go for the tape too, like it is kitty-crack and so far they haven't done any puking from it., but its always possible. Cats can have individual sensitivities just like humans.

Not only eating fast, but also eating where air gets in their tummy can cause upset. Keep their dishes raised so they don't have to bend over if it seems like that is the issue.

Also, for some cats, like a siamese, they sell special shaped food. Siamese tend to not chew their food, just like when they devour other cats... they just swallow it whole. The special food is shaped to where it forces them to chew or some crap like that. It worked so I guess there is something to it.

Hopefully its just passing upset and nothing serious.

(We have a lot of cats, and I've rescued feral kittens for a while now. Ironically with all the cats I've cared for not one had hairball issues.)
